Razer is expanding its Barracuda gaming headset lineup with the introduction of new a model called Barracuda X Chroma. The new headset, as the name suggests, adds a touch of Razer’s signature Chroma RGB lighting to the Barracuda lineup, which somehow didn’t have a single model with the RGB flair until now. This new unit is now available to purchase from Amazon and directly from Razer, and it’ll cost you $129.99 shipped. Head below for a closer look and some more details.

The highlight of Razer’s new Barracuda X Chroma headset is the inclusion of Chroma RGB. You’re looking at six zones of Chroma RGB lighting that’s customizable via Razer Chroma Studio or the Razer Audio App. Razer says you’ll get a rich selection of lighting effects for the headset, and it’s even integrated with over 300 games to deliver a more immersive gaming experience. Another highlight of this gaming headset is that it is equipped with the brand’s SmartSwitch Dual Wireless technology, which can be used to seamlessly transition between Razer HyperSpeed and Bluetooth connectivity. That makes it great for both casual usage and during intense gaming sessions, and you can switch between devices without the need for any repeated pairing.

The new Barracuda X Chrome headset features the brand’s TriForce 40mm drivers to deliver crisp audio with “exceptional sound clarity,” and it also comes with a detachable Razer HyperClear cardioid mic to let you use it for voice calls, in-game communication, and more. This model also features swiveling ear cups wrapped in breathable memory foam cushions for a comfortable experience, and it should be able to last for up to 70 hours on a single charge. You can top it up with USB-C charging and it looks like a brief 15-minute charge will provide approximately 6 hours of playtime.

The new Barracuda X Chroma headset in black is now up for grabs for $129.99 shipped. The White Edition will hit the shelves later this year for the same price as well. You can head to Amazon and Razer to grab the new model for your battlestation. If you’re looking for something a bit more premium, then Razer’s new Kraken V4 Pro is also worth taking a look at. It’s a bit on the pricier side but delivers more features including support for Razer’s SensaHD haptics.
