Update: Pre-order are also now starting to go live on Amazon, but there are no discounts there.
Apple has now unleashed the brand M4 iMac with nano-texture display upgrade options, 16GB of RAM on the base models, and an all-new collection of vibrant colors joining the USB-C peripherals. It is, of course, the very first Mac to see the light of day hosting the new M4 chip, and will likely soon be joined by the refreshed MacBook Pro and Mac mini lineups with Apple latest and greatest silicon. But the new iMac has arrived and My Best Buy members can score as much as $100 off their pre-order starting today. Details below.
M4 iMac pre-order deals
While we are used to Best Buy offering elevated trade-in values on Apple’s new releases, or at least it has this year, the iMac numbers we are seeing right now are nothing to write home about (some of them are offering less than a couple cups of coffee right now). But if you’re a paid My Best Buy Plus or Total member, can score as much as $100 off your pre-order today.
The new M4 iMac base model, which includes 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and the 8-core internals, comes in four colorways with a $1,299.99 MSRP – the same price the 8GB M3 model launched at. However, when adding it your cart, Best Buy will prompt customers with the potential of saving $50 off their pre-order with a Plus membership. The Plus membership costs $50 per year, but if you already have one or plan on taking advantage of its perks in the future, this is the best price anywhere for the brand new, base model M4 iMac without having to trade anything in.
However, it is upping the ante on the elevated and upgraded models with as much as $100 in savings for members:
- M4 iMac 16GB/256GB/8-core from $1,249 ($50 off for Best Buy Plus members)
- M4 iMac 16GB/256GB/10-core from $1,424 ($75 off for Best Buy Plus members)
- M4 iMac 16GB/512GB/10-core from $1,599 ($100 off for Best Buy Plus members)
As detailed in our launch coverage, all of the M4 iMacs start with 16GB of RAM while the base model features an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU with a pair of Thunderbolt ports around back. The higher-end models include the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU while doubling the Thunderbolt 4 ports to four instead just two. All of them now use Apple’s very first peripherals with USB-C ports, finally doing away with the Lightning connectors on the Magic Mouse and Keyboard.
