Yesterday we highlighted an early M4 iMac pre-order deal for Best Buy members, but the retailer is now offering elevated trade-in rates that can take hundreds off your order. The up to $100 in savings for My Best tBuy Plus and Total members remains, and is even stackable with the trade-in credits, but we are now seeing as much as $325 in trade value on the M2 Mac mini and $450 on the M3 iMac for folks looks to upgrade – you can score the new $1,299 M4 iMac, for example, as low as $849 with a base model M3 iMac trade-in. Head below for more details.
Score up to $450 or more off the new M4 iMac
Again, the elevated trade-in values will stack with the up wit the $50, $75, $100 price drops Best Buy members can score (the same offers we detailed yesterday), but let’s just take a look at the trade-in value options anyone with some gear to flip can score.
As per usual, the value you receive is entirely dependent on the gear you have and its condition, plus you’ll always want to check what Apple will offer you direct. But let’s use the base model M3 iMac as an example here.
If you add, for example, the new base model M4 iMac to your cart at $1,299, you can follow the steps below to land the best trade-in value on the M3 model via Best Buy right now:
- Navigate to the base model M4 iMac listing, and add the configuration you want to your cart.
- Then navigate to your cart, and hit the “Check Trade-In Value” button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions – hit Apple and iMac in the appropriate menus
- And then hit the “Search” button at the bottom and select your gear to trade-in from the results
- If it was a base model M3 iMac, choose “Good” condition in the options presented
- Then hit Add to cart to start the checkout process
- This will then load up your cart with both the new M4 iMac and the trade-in gear – if you chose the base model M3 iMac 8GB, you’ll see a $450 value on the trade leaving you with an effective price on the new machine at $849.
And this all entirely before you factor the bonus savings My Best Buy members can score (the price will drop an additional $50 for members for $500 in savings, using the example trade-in above).
You can see a rundown of the general trade-in values Best Buy is offering on this page and below, but the actual values seem to change slightly when following the steps laid out above:
As a reminder, here’s how pricing breaks down for members before the trade-in potential:
