A few weeks after making a debut in the Japanese market, Hori’s new Wireless HORIPAD gamepad for Steam is now coming to the U.S. This new wireless controller is compatible with Windows 11/10 PCs and the Steam Deck, and it’s now available to pre-order for $59.99 shipped on Amazon. It’s only available in the Midnight Black colorway and is scheduled to release on December 16, 2024. This listing also falls under the Amazon pre-order Guarantee, which means you’ll be charged the lowest price it falls to between now and release no matter how much you lock in for now. Head below for more info and a closer look at this new gamepad.
The new Wireless HORIPAD is here with gyro sensor
The new Wireless HORIPAD controller is packed with a unique set of features and it also offers a broad range of customization options for those who really like to fine-tune their overall gaming experience. Purpose built for Steam, the new Wireless HORIPAD comes with three dedicated menu buttons that provide quick access to Steam features such as the Big Picture mode. It connects to the PC and Steam Deck via Bluetooth and is rated to last for up to 12 hours on a single charge.
This new gamepad has two programmable back and function buttons that you can customize to your liking using the companion app. You can use the app to fine-tune some other settings like turbo mode, analog stick sensitivity, and more. Notably, the new Wireless HORIPAD also has a built-in gyro sensor, which is great news for those who prefer using motion controls for camera movements or making in-game adjustments simply by tilting the controller. There aren’t too many reliable options out there with built-in gyro support, making this stand out in the sea of other Steam gamepads.
Other notable highlights of this model include capacitive touch thumbsticks, analog/digital trigger modes, and more. It would’ve been nice to see all the color options making it to the U.S. market, but that’s not really the case, at least for now.
You can pre-order the new Wireless HORIPAD controller in Midnight Black colorway from Amazon for $59.99 shipped. It starts shipping just in time for the holidays on December 16, making it a great option to consider, either for yourself or someone you know who’d really appreciate a reliable alternative to the original Steam Controller.
