As a part of its early Black Friday sale with deals on a bunch of its Odyssey models, Samsung is offering its new Odyssey OLED G8 4K UHD 240Hz gaming monitor down at $999.99 shipped. This is a fairly new unit that debuted earlier this year in June carrying a $1,300 price tag, and today’s deal shaves a solid $300 off its usual going rate. We’ve seen this display drop to the $948 mark on Amazon where it is currently fetching the same $1,000 price, but today’s deal at Samsung’s online store delivers a better value overall with a FREE 27-inch 180Hz Odyssey G3 gaming monitor, which is currently going for $160 on its own.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) is one of the newer models out there, sporting a 32-inch 4K UHD panel and a sleek metal design. It’s fully kitted to offer a solid gaming experience with a panel that supports up to 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms(GTG) response time, and NVIDA G-SYNC. This is one of those gaming monitors that features a stylish design back which looks just as good as the panel on the front. Another highlight of this display is that it features a dynamic cooling system to prevent burn-in using heat pipes. Other noteworthy features include a matte finish on the panel, a sturdy and ergonomic stand, a good selection of ports including an HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, and more.

As far as the included Odyssey G3 monitor is concerned, it’s an FHD display with support for up to 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response times, and it also comes with an ergonomic stand, a 3-sided borderless design, and more.

If you’re looking for cheaper alternatives today, then Alienware’s 27-inch 1440p gaming monitor is also down at $250. It supports up to 180Hz refresh rate and is down from its usual price of $400 today.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) gaming monitor features:

  • EXPERIENCE A BRIGHTER WORLD: Content springs to life in 4K OLED; Brilliant imagery shines with 250 nits (typ) of brightness and a wider spectrum of colors, shades & contrasts; The NQ8 AI Gen3 Processor also upscales lower resolutions to nearly 4K
  • OUTMANEUVER OPPONENTS w/ SUPREME SPEED: Dodge, counter & engage faster with OLED technology, offering a near-instant 0.03ms response time (GtG); Stay ahead with HDMI 2.1 & DisplayPort connections & a 240Hz refresh rate in UHD resolution¹
  • DYNAMIC COOLING SYSTEM: For the 1st time ever, a Pulsating Heat Pipe was introduced into the monitor to prevent burn-in; The Dynamic Cooling System evaporates & condenses a coolant to diffuse heat 5x better than the older graphite sheet method²
  • THERMAL MODULATION SYSTEM: Algorithms predict surface temperature and automatically control brightness to reduce heat accordingly³
