PNY just unleashed a new M.2 NVMe SSD that joins its ever-growing lineup of internal drives. The brand has debuted the new CS2150 M.2 Gen 5 SSD, which is now available to purchase from Amazon in 1TB and 2TB capacities. This high-performance unit is among the fastest M.2 drives out there on the market, and you can grab one for your PC starting at $99.99 shipped. Head below for a closer look and more details.

All-new PNY 10,200MB/s Gen 5 M.2 NVMe SSDs from $99

The CS2150 SSD utilizes the latest NVMe PCIe Gen5 x4 interface, achieving impressive sequential read and write speeds of up to 10,300MB/s and 8,600MB/s, respectively. It is worth noting that this new drive is backwards compatible with PCIe Gen 4 and Gen 3 systems, but you’ll only achieve the promised speeds with systems that support PCIe Gen 5. Notably, this model is also compatible with Microsoft DirectStorage, which, in case you don’t know, is a Windows 11 feature that significantly reduces game load times and improves overall image quality. The CS2150 comes with built-in TCG Opal 2.0 hardware encryption to safeguard your data, and it is also backed by a 5-year warranty or a specified TBW rating.

The CS2150, as previously mentioned, is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities in the 2280 form factor, making it compatible with most modern PCs and laptops out there.

As far as the pricing is concerned, PNY has listed the 1TB variant of this new drive at $99.99 shipped. The 2TB variant, on the other hand, is going for $179.99 shipped right now at Amazon. The brand has plenty of other Gen 5 internal SSDs in its catalog, but this new unit lands as one of the more affordable options in the Gen 5 space. It remains to be seen how these will fair in the PCIe Gen 5 SSD space and whether they’ll disrupt the market with a much more affordable price tag than the competition.

You’ll find plenty of other drives that are priced under $100 right now, many of which are even featured in our PC Gaming Deals hub with discounted prices. That being said, this is easily among the fastest options in this price range, making it a solid entry.
