9to5Toy’s Take

The KM100-A keyboard-mouse combo from ProtoArc is a dynamic duo of sleek and slim computer components for Apple products that offer several convenient features. When unboxing the package, you’ll find that ProtoArc provides everything you need to get started, including a handy quick-start guide, a USB-C charging cable, and the tech itself.

The kit also includes a silicon protector to keep your keyboard clean and free of crumbs and debris. My keyboard’s color was space grey, but ProtoArc also sells the combo with a mouse in a metallic white version.

The setup process was seamless. I positioned the protector over my keyboard, then plugged it in to charge alongside the mouse using the USB-C cable provided. I had a spare in my office, so I was able to charge both devices at once, although they did arrive with some charge already.

To connect, I turned each device on and easily found them in my computer’s Bluetooth settings. This enabled a quick setup display before I was connected and ready to work.

A cool feature I want to point out is that both the mouse and the keyboard feature three individual Bluetooth channels, enabling you to easily connect to up to three different devices simultaneously. I was able to switch between my Apple computer, iPhone, and tablet at the click of a button – super simple.

The Bluetooth keyboard is very slim and may take some getting used to if you’re used to more robust setups that include keys that press in a little deeper. The white LED backlight on the keyboard is evenly distributed, glare-free, and easily adjustable to three different brightness levels. You can also turn the light off completely if you prefer.

In addition to the keyboard, ProtoArc’s KM100-A combo includes a slim wireless mouse with three adjustable DPI levels (1000/1600/2400 DPI), allowing for more precise control.  I also loved the mouse’s silent click feature.

Both the mouse and keyboard are super slim and took some getting used to in terms of mouse precision and the feel of the scissor key switch technology on the keyboard, but once I was adjusted, I was impressed at each’s response and utility.

Overall, the KM100-A combo is slim and functional, and it is easy to use and set up. I enjoyed taking my mouse on the go with me while working on the road, and I had no problems with my connections.
