Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Countdown [T-8 Days]: Let’s unbox the new OLED Mario Wonder bundle so I can have the Switch 2 all to myself

T-8 Days Wonder(ful)
A box of video game console

Nintendo dropped its new Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch OLED bundle to celebrate Mario Day! This bundle includes the best Mario has to offer and some other goodies to help sweeten the deal. However, with the unveiling of Switch 2 looming, it looks like it could be the final official Switch 1 bundle.

Super Mario Wonder Switch Bundle

Released on March 10th to celebrate MAR10 Day, this limited-time bundle includes:

  • A Nintendo Switch – OLED Model (red and blue Joy-Cons)
  • A digital copy of Super Mario Bros. Wonder
  • A 3-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership

All for $349.99—the same price as the console alone. That’s nearly $68 in added value for free. However, aside from the game code, the 3-month free online membership, and the Mario-themed box, I wish they added more to the Switch. The Switch itself is a normal off-the-shelf Switch. Unfortunately, there are no custom colors, artwork, or anything on the Switch to indicate it’s a special edition.

Who is this for?

Again, with Switch 2 right around the corner, you would have to be crazy to buy this Switch, right? I would argue that there are a few scenarios where this makes a lot of sense!

  • Parents prepping for the Switch 2: If you plan to scoop up the next-gen Switch when it’s announced, this bundle is a great way to keep the kids entertained. I know first hand just how much kids want to take your Switch the moment I take it out!
  • First-time Switch buyers: Right now, this is the best-valued Nintendo Switch bundle out there. Like I said, there is about $70 worth of free goodies in there. So, if you don’t care to wait for the new Switch, then this works great!
  • Mario fans and collectors: Even if you’re not buying it for the kids, this is a clean bundle featuring one of the best Mario titles in years—perfect for anyone who wants to add to their collection.

Here is a quick hands-on unboxing:

Pricing and availability

The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch OLED bundle is priced at $349.99, again the same cost as a standalone Switch OLED, on Nintnedo’s website and most major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. So, if you’re thinking about grabbing one, it’s a good idea to act soon, especially with the buzz building surrounding the Switch 2 announcement that is coming.

Will you be picking one of these up? Are you holding out for the new Switch 2 release?
