Twelve South is debuting the next-generation AirFly Pro 2 today – “the new version of the world’s most popular travel accessory that makes it easy to connect Bluetooth headphones to any in-flight entertainment system, gym equipment, game console, class sound system, car, or boat.” There are plenty of clones out there of the Twelve South AirFly units, but the new and improved real deal is back with some notable enhancements today. Now available for purchase directly from Twelve South and over at Amazon, you’ll find more details below.

Twelve South debuts next-gen AirFly Pro 2

For those unfamiliar, the AirFly lineup at its most basic is a series of a small devices that connect to wired-only audio systems – on air planes, at the gym, and so on – and then beam the sound directly to your wireless AirPods (or any other Bluetooth headphones).

As airlines lag behind in adding Bluetooth capabilities to their inflight entertainment systems, or reserve the feature exclusively for first class customers, AirFly Pro 2 continues to lead the way with wireless freedom on the go, giving travelers the ability to listen to their favorite music, shows, and podcasts using their preferred Bluetooth headphones – not those subpar sounding disposables that many airlines still hand out today (or charge for!).

Twelve South says its new AirFly Pro 2 makes it easier than ever to “pair your favorite Bluetooth headphones with any gym equipment, game console, or class sound system that has an audio jack,” and can also be used with “legacy car and boat audio systems that have a headphone jack or other audio output.”

What’s new on the updated AirFly Pro 2?

The AirFly Pro 2 delivers all of the same functionality of previous models, but there are some notable enhancements in the form of state-of-the-art Qualcomm technology, faster pairing tech, and “best-in-class sound ensuring a seamless, high-quality audio experience wherever your journey takes you.”

It is equipped with the latest Qualcomm QCC3056 audio processor, ensuring richer, clearer, and more adaptive audio performance.” Here’s a quick rundown from Twelve South of the highlights:

  • Qualcomm aptX™ Adaptive Audio:Automatically optimizes sound quality and latency, making movies, music, and games sound even better.
  • Qualcomm cVc™ Echo Cancelling & Noise Suppression:Reduces background noise for crystal-clear voice clarity.
  • Multipoint Connectivity:Connects two Bluetooth devices at once, perfect for sharing audio with a travel buddy.
  • Ultra-Low Power Consumption:Extends battery life to 25+ hours on a single charge, ensuring all-day listening.
  • Faster & More Reliable Bluetooth Pairing: Quick, seamless connections every time.
  • New Physical Volume Controls: Easier on-the-go adjustments.
  • Aux-In Mode: Bring Bluetooth to car stereos, gym equipment, gaming consoles, and legacy sound systems.
  • USB-C Charging: Fast and efficient power-up with modern connectivity.

The new AirFly Pro is available for purchase today directly from Twelve South and over at Amazon for $59.99 shipped. The entry-level, previous-generation models start at $28.99 Prime shipped (down from the regular $35 at the time of writing).
