It was a big day for Nintendo yesterday with the full reveal of Nintendo Switch 2, its official price tag, release date, pre-order date, a closer look at Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, and we even had roughly 6 hours of hands-on time with the new console (check out the video right here), but the fun doesn’t stop there. A couple days ago Nintendo announced that it would be hosting some official Treehouse Live streams so gamers can get a closer look specifically at the new games, and it all starts very soon.
Nintendo Switch 2 gameplay live
The Nintendo Switch 2 Treehouse Live stream, or streams I should say, kick off today with what has been scheduled to be a 4-hour gameplay session starting at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. The second livestream goes up tomorrow, April 4, 2025 at 7 a.m. PT/ 10 a.m. ET and run for 3 hours until 1 p.m. ET.
Much like other Treehouse events, this is will be a sort of sit-down with in-house Nintendo personalities playing and talking about the games, an unlike any other Treehouse event, this one will be entirely focused on Switch 2 gameplay (and what looks like a demo of GameChat at some point).
We got a complete rundown of the new console and some first-look trailers for several titles during yesterday’s Direct showcase, including Mario Kart World and the new 3D Donkey Kong Bananza, but today (and tomorrow) we are expecting to see hours of mostly uncut raw gameplay footage.
DAY 2:
DAY 1:
Tune in April 3rd and April 4th at 7 a.m. PT for Nintendo Treehouse: Live | Nintendo Switch 2, where we’ll go hands-on with some of the #NintendoSwitch2 games featured in today’s Nintendo Direct!
As of right now, we don’t know exactly which games will be on display and for how long during each session, but Nintendo did drop a teaser trailer for the Switch 2 gameplay Treehouse event that specifically highlights the following titles:
- Mario Kart World
- Game Chat (demoing the new features in game presumably)
- Super Mario Party Jamboree (Switch 2 Edition)
- Drag x Drive
- Street Fighter 6
- Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (Switch 2 Edition)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
- Donkey Kong Bananza
- Bravely Default Flying Fairy
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch 2 Edition)
- Nintendo GameCube Classics
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (Switch 2 Edition)
This list is in the exact order the game’s appear in the official Nintendo teaser video, but we aren’t sure if that’s any indication as to when they might go live in the Treehouse Live stream. We will be following along with the livestream and will drop some updates on our social feeds as to when each title (or whatever will be shown) goes live.
