LEGO’s Super Mario Piranha Plant sees first major discount to new $48 Amazon low

Update: Amazon has dropped the price further to a new Amazon low of $47.95 shipped.

Amazon is offering a rare chance to save on the LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant set for $53.99 shipped. Normally fetching $60, it’s only seen minor shavings off the price since first releasing in November, never anything more than $1 to $2. Today’s deal is the first major discount that we have seen since popping up out of its pipe, marking a new Amazon low and giving you the best price we have seen. One of the more iconic enemies out of the Super Mario Bros. universe, this display-worthy model stacks up to 540 pieces, and would actually fit right in amongst LEGO’s Botanical Collection. It’s quite the ingenious design, capturing the look of the character alongside keeping nice curves and bends in the places it matters, like on the leaves – which are also posable! You’ll get more movement capabilities in its jaw and body too, letting you set it in a variety of energetic tableaus to fit its 8-bit vibes. Once finished, it’ll stand at 9 inches tall and 4 inches wide, never requiring water or sunlight like a normal plant, but also, unfortunately, not eating bugs or other vermin either.
