Segway launches new ZT3 Pro electric scooter designed for all-terrain adventures

$350 off Pre-order!

Segway has launched its new ZT3 Pro All-Terrain Electric Scooter, the first of the brand’s all-new series of e-scooters tailored for urban and off-road adventure. Now available for pre-order, it’s been upgraded for the U.S. market with a higher speed than its global counterpart, boasting off-road comfortability, safer stability and control, exclusive smart tech, and plenty more to be excited about. Head below to continue learning more about this all-new entry into the e-mobility market and check out the video of it in action.

Redesigned to maximize fun, versatility, and capability

The new ZT3 Pro All-Terrain Electric Scooter arrives onto the scene with a 1,600W brushless motor that can reach top speeds of 24.9 MPH and provides enough high-powered torque to tackle up to 25% slopes with relative ease. The 597Wh battery comes supported by the brand’s RideyLong tech that utilizes an advanced controller algorithm in order to extend its travel range “by up to 20%,” giving it 43.5 miles of travel on a single charge when set to its Eco Mode, and 18.6 miles when kicked into Sport Mode.

While this model normally takes only four hours to regain a full battery, Segway has thought ahead for situations where one might need faster rates for sudden use, allowing for 6.2 miles of travel after just 30 minutes.

“We’re so excited to finally share the ZT3 Pro with the world. Extreme R&D and testing has gone into this and it shows. It’s a completely new scooter designed from the ground up to maximize fun, versatility and capability. It’s packed with tech and innovation and it’s an absolute blast to ride. It’s the perfect introduction to our new ZT series.”

Tom Hebert, VP of Sales at Segway

Safety, stability, and rider comfort seem to be one of the main focuses of Segway with this new model, highlighted by the fact that it has been given a new design that centers around a full-suspension frame, which I’m always happy to see on an e-scooter. On top of its deck being a solid 6 inches off the ground for ensured clearance, it also sits upon a pair of 11-inch all-terrain tubeless tires to smooth out the rougher terrain you may find yourself on. These details are further supported by the company’s new patented Segride stability enhancement system that works alongside its Traction Control System (TCS) for superior control while at higher speeds, reducing the shaking of its handlebars as well as wheel slippage.

The body has been surrounded by an eco-friendly ASA thermoplastic to provide folks with an easier way to replace it if it ends up truly damaged by some unforeseen tragedy at the same time it provides added protection against the elements. The body has been rated with an IPX5 waterproof designation, while the battery boasts an IPX7 rating.

There are some exciting smart features here too, starting with its wireless Bluetooth AirLock System that delivers automatic proximity locking and unlocking capabilities when you pair the scooter to the Segway-Ninebot app that you’ll have to download onto your phone. Don’t worry if this feature doesn’t tickle your fancy either as you can completely control/customize its settings through the app. There’s also Apple Find My compatibility here too, giving you an easier time tracking down the scooter should it be misplaced or even stolen. Lastly, the battery comes protected by an upgraded management system, the BMS 2.0, that provides 10 layers of protection so nothing can easily damage the battery.

Visibility also comes with some enhancement on the ZT3 Pro, both for the rider and everyone else around them. It’s been equipped with a new 3-inch hexagonal LCD display screen to get all the real-time performance data you expect along with easy setting controls while you’re in motion – all of it “clearly visible even in direct sunlight.” There’s also a full lighting system, with a 4W headlight to illuminate where you’re headed paired with a signature “X” symbol daytime running light, as well as front and rear turn signal indicator lights, and a brake light.

And following right along with other e-scooters and e-bikes on the market, it also comes compatible with an array of add-on accessories (sold separately) that will help you customize your ride to your individual needs, with the company aware that everyone is different and offering wider options to cover those differences.

The ZT3 Pro conquers what stands between riders and their destination

Segway’s new ZT3 Pro All-Terrain Electric Scooter will carry with it a $1,299.99 price tag normally, but starting today, September 26, and running through October 21, you can pre-order it direct from Segway at a discounted $949.99 shipped rate. There’s no telling how long folks will have to wait after this pre-order special before it sees another discount like this or to lower rates, so considering the 27% markdown here, it’s a pretty significant price cut to benefit from right out the gate.
