Over at the official SK hynix Amazon storefront, you’ll find its 2TB Platinum P41 M.2 SSD down at $134.99 shipped. While this drive has fetched as much as $174 in recent months, it typically goes for around $150. Today’s deal, however, shaves $15 off its usual going rate, knocking it down to its lowest price of the year at $135. We did see this one go for less last year, but this particular model hasn’t fetched anything less than $136 since the industry-wide price hike hit SSDs in 2024. Head below for more details.
The Platinum P41 SSD is SK hynix’s highest-end PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 SSD that’s capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s and 6,500 MB/s, respectively. The speeds, as you can tell, are on par with the best Gen 4 SSDs out there on the market. This drive uses an in-house Aries controller and TLD NAND flash chip, and it comes with a 5-year warranty with MTBF reaching 1.5 million hours or up to 1,200TB written.
The Platinum P41 is also compatible with PS5, but you’ll need a heatsink to install and use it properly. The unit discounted today doesn’t come with one, but you can easily find plenty of slim PS5 heatsinks for less than $10 on Amazon.
Folks looking for some alternatives can also consider WD_BLACK’s 2TB SN850X SSD at $140. It’s also among the fastest SSDs out there and is down from its usual price of $150 today.
