Satechi’s gorgeous metal 15W Qi2 MagSafe car mount charger is one of the best, now down at $48

One of, if not, the best new MagSafe car charger mounts that released this year came courtesy of the folks at Satechi and its latest Qi2 model. It typically fetches $60 and currently does right now on its official site, but over on its Amazon storefront you can scoop one up for $47.99 shipped. That’s 20% off the going rate and within a few bucks of the lowest price we have tracked since release. 

The new Satechi Qi2 Wireless Car Charger delivers a particularly attractive design for me – it perhaps looks like something Apple might have designed itself with the sleek Space Gray-like paint job on the main metal mounting pad with subtle branding and softer silicone-covered magnetic pad to drop your iPhone down on. 

This time around, however, Satechi has opted to implement the new Qi2 standard in order to deliver the 15W of charging power to your device while on the road – it also ships with the cables and adapters you need to connect it to your vehicle.

My hands-on impressions piece right here details the user experience further, but the short-form version is that this is one great car charger, it looks fantastic, delivers an easy installation process on any of the vent mounts I have tried it on, and one worth considering for anyone sick of those cheapie plastic models.
