As a part of its ongoing Black Friday sale, Best Buy is offering ASUS’ new Vivobook S 15 Copilot+ PC down at $549.99 shipped. This brand new notebook with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X Plus ARM chip debuted a couple of months back in September carrying a $900 price tag. It dropped to $750 shortly after its debut before further landing further down at $650 earlier this month, but today’s deal at Best Buy takes things up a notch with an additional $100 discount. With a $350 markdown on its usual going rate, this new machine is now down to its lowest price, and it’s easily one of the most affordable Copilot+ laptops out there right now.
ASUS has a handful of Copilot+ laptops in its catalog, but this particular model holds the title of being the first one to hit the shelves carrying Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon X Plus chip. The new 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chip is just as performant as the 10-core and 12-core Snapdragon X Elite chip in single-core tests, and it also offers the same 45 TOPS of performance with its NPU for Copilot+ features and other AI-related tasks. It does have a relatively weaker GPU, but that shouldn’t necessarily be a deal-breaker if you’re only looking to tackle general productivity and day-to-day tasks. It’s worth noting that you get a 15-inch 3K OLED panel with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate along with things like 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD with this laptop. It also shares other similarities with the pricer model including a 70Wh battery, a good selection of ports, support for Wi-Fi 7, and a thin and light form factor, among other things.
