Jet.com is ready to battle Amazon and Walmart for your online shopping needs

Perhaps you’ve heard of Jet.com, the new Amazon and Walmart competitor that launched nationwide today. With substantial backing and big ambitions, this new service plans on undercutting Jeff Bezos’ company on every product that the startup offers.

Head below for the full detail on this lofty new service’s plan to lower your costs on every item you buy.

After going through a soft launch with 150,000 users, Jet is available today nationwide for customers to sign-up. The brainchild of Marc Lore, former Quidsi founder, is using some 225 million dollars in capital to get out of the gates quickly. Jet will charge customers $50 a year for a membership in exchange for providing access to lower prices than Amazon offers.

Jet provides a real-time look at Amazon’s price on any product that the former offers. Each product page offers an extra amount of savings by the ‘add to cart’ button, the more items that you add the more you save. Additionally, the location of your shipping address will also affect the price based on how far away the warehouse is that’s sending your item. Many factors go into delivering the final total, which adjusts in real-time based on pricing and other market changes. Jet offers free shipping on orders of $35+, just like Amazon as well as free returns.

There are a wide variety of items available at Jet, from home goods to electronics and more. It’s unclear what the long-term viability of the company is but they are certainly making a lot of noise in the e-commerce world today. If you’re interested in trying the new service, coupon code GOOGLE will get you a full year membership for free after your first purchase.
