Sony’s new high-resolution headphones have a cringe-worthy name

IFA 2015 is well underway in Berlin and today Sony announced a new set of headphones design for high-resolution audio. With more and more consumers looking to enjoy their music at higher bit rates, it’s no surprise that Sony is making this move. The new h.ear – yes, that’s the name – headphones come in six colors all together: lime green, turquoise, red, pink, orange and black. This mixture of colors is a nice addition to Sony’s rather visually bland line-up of headphones.

The headphones feature 40mm HD drivers that hit sounds up to 60kHz with CCAW voice coils to smooth out high-pitched sounds. Additional highlights include: titanium-coated diaphragms, a foldable 8-ounce closed-back design and detachable cables.

Sony’s new headphones are set to launch in the United States in November with a $200 price tag.
