It’s not every day that we see a cool bag come across our desk. But leave it to ThinkGeek to come up with a pretty sweet knapsack. Just this week, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) backpack hit the online retailer with a spot-on design.
From the subtle grays to the pop of red, this replication of Nintendo’s popular gaming console is perfect. At $40, you get all the nostalgia of the NES with rubber controller ports and iconic branding. Even the zippers are little replica controllers. If you manage to still have a working NES console or found one on eBay, this would be the perfect companion. Throw your amiibo collection inside and call it a day. No matter, I’ll be plunking down $40 for this backpack.
Why does the iconic NES console make us so happy? Maybe it’s because it makes us remember simpler days when the world side-scrolled by. Or maybe it’s how the controller felt in our hands. Our first (but not last) experience with the D-pad. We don’t know. We just know it makes us happy. And that’s enough for us.
This Nintendo Entertainment System Console Backpack is pretty sweet. It has dimensional details on the outside, including vents, power/reset buttons & controller sockets. Note that the vents don’t actually open to reveal the contents of your backpack; that could be counterproductive to keeping items inside. But you can still get to your goods by using the dual-zippers with little controller zipper pulls. Use it to carry your books. Use it to store your amiibo collection.
