The Ultra Quiet Garage Door opener claims to be “20% quieter” than similar products on the market. But it’s not just the motor that’s impressive: this multi-function system is fully customizable with a bevy of add-ons like wireless speakers, fans and sensors. Oh, and naturally, it is smartphone-connected. More below.
Ryobi’s new Ultra Quiet Garage Door Opener has the typical neon green and charcoal paint scheme that we’ve come to expect. The base hub is very similar to your normal opener with a chain guided motor for actuating your door. Where things get interesting is the multiple ports for adding a variety of different modules. Some of our favorites include the Bluetooth speaker, a retractable power supply, laser guided-parking assist and a carbon monoxide sensor.
There is an extra port for one of Ryobi’s Lithium Ion batteries, which can add an additional 100 garage door openings during a power outage. That alone is a pretty nifty innovation when you consider that the battery can be used with the full line of Ryobi products.

As we mentioned before, it’s no surprise that smartphone-connectivity is also available on this product. A built-in Wi-Fi radio is an expected feature these days, rather than an added bonus. The free iOS and Android app allows home owners to check on the status of the door, monitor carbon monoxide levels, amongst other features. Additional specifications include a 2HP motor and a built-in motion-activated LED light.
The Ultra Quiet Garage Door Opener is available for pre-order today at Home Depot for $248. The full line of accessories is also listed on Home Depot’s site with prices starting at $44.
In need of a new garage door opener but prefer to skip all the add-ons? We’re big fans of Chamberlain’s Whisper Drive with MyQ technology. Amazon customers agree, with nearly 750 leaving a 4.6/5 star rating. Grab Chamberlain’s MyQ Garage Door Control system if you just want the smartphone-connectivity.
