Colorware tricked out a MacBook with an Apple IIe design and it’s awesome

Colorware is known for taking modern day Apple products (and other electronics) and tricking them out to look like a variety of different things. Its latest creation is a 12-inch MacBook skinned to match an old Apple IIe. In typical fashion, they did a great job. The initial run was limited to just 10 renditions, all of which have since sold out at its $2,999 price tag. No word yet on if more are coming down the line. In the meantime, you can recreate your own look with this $8 retro Apple sticker over at Amazon.

You wanted more Retro, so we’re giving it to you. This time it’s the 12″ MacBook that’s getting the Retro treatment. What’s the Retro look? It’s inspired by the Apple IIe, but with the sleekness and power of the current 12″ MacBook. The design is reminiscent of the 1980s. The rainbow logo illuminates when the machine is powered up. The putty color and faux vents add to the nostalgia without taking away any of the features of the current MacBook that you love. Maybe Retro isn’t your thing.
