How to add sound, light and motion to your LEGO creations with the PFx Brick

If you consider yourself a LEGO aficionado and have been looking for an easy way to add extra effects to your creations– you may be interested in a new startup by Fx Bricks based in Ottawa, Canada. They hope the combination of novel features, ease of use, and performance will encourage you to support its Kickstarter campaign and allow them to share with you the PFx Brick.

The PFx Brick is a single device that adds light, actions and now even sound to your LEGO creations. It can work with the existing LEGO power functions components and it’s powered by the battery boxes that come with certain sets. You can even setup your PFx Brick just the way you want it with the included app.

The PFx app lets you to customize its behavior to suit your application. Just, plug your brick into any available USB port and launch the PFx app. From the app, you can customize its operational settings, stored audio files, and actions in response to your LEGO power functions and EV3 compatible IR remote controls. The PFx app can store your customized settings on your local PC for backup purposes for re-use on another brick. Updates to both the PFx app and the PFx Brick firmware can be checked and applied automatically or manually from their secure application deployment server.

Lights, sound, action; these three words perfectly summarize the essence of the PFx Brick. Never before have these capabilities been available on a single device, in such a small form factor, and designed specifically for LEGO builders. That is, until now!

Also, anyone familiar with model trains equipped with sound modules will appreciate the amazing effect it has. Models can be instantly brought to life with the addition of sound. The PFx Brick brings sound Fx to your LEGO creations. Unlike many toy or model sound effects modules, the PFx Brick works with your sound effects. Using the PFx App, you can load up to 32 different sound files. You can choose these sound files from a default sound library, download sound files from many freely available libraries on the internet, or record your own sound effects.

With 19 days left in the campaign, PFXBrick has long way still to reach its goal of $104,176. It will be shipping next November if all goes as planned. In the mean time, you can shop LEGO build a better basket Easter sets at Amazon.
