Ultraloq is a secure, user-friendly and affordable home smart lock

The Ultraloq UL1 is a new biometric and Bluetooth Smart lock that can be opened using your fingerprint or contactless key fob. It has a month left of it’s campaign on Indiegogo and it has already surpassed its fundraising goal. The smart lock has been designed to be easily installed, plus it’s also weather-resistant, equipped with dual data encryption and can be opened with either iOS or Android mobile devices.

You can even share an eKey with guests while you’re away from your home and monitor all activity via the smartphone app. It’s designed to fit any standard door and the UL1 can be installed in minutes with only 5 screws. The company believes the “UL1 is the most affordable solution to home security.” Even if someone captured the AES encrypted data, the random key would prevent the intruder from unlocking your door.

The Ultralock is most similar in nature to the August Smart Lock (2nd Gen) available for $225 at Amazon. While August doesn’t have biometrics or fingerprint access, it does have connectivity with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant.

Your fingerprint is completely unique to you. That means it can’t be stolen, forgotten, or impersonated, making for the utmost security. Ultraloq uses the “most sophisticated biometric fingerprint technology available today” for identification in half a second. The fingerprint sensor will wake automatically once you place your finger on it and is conveniently positioned to accompany your natural hand position. One seamless action allows you to wake the sensor, read your fingerprint, and unlock your door.

The Bluetooth smart lock can also join in your local network, so you can easily grant access to guests and visitors with the eKey app for special dates and for certain periods of time. Also, the Ultraloq UL1 is powered by just four AA batteries that offer more than one year of usage. When the battery life is low, you’ll get low battery alert via beeps, red LED flashing and notifications.

Pledges are now available from $129 at its Indiegogo campaign site with shipping expected to take place during October 2017.
