It seems as though every morning we wake up to a new Amazon service that we will most probably end up using. If the multiple versions of its Echo devices and the purchasing of Whole Foods weren’t enough, Amazon has just announced a new service called Prime Wardrobe.
This service is included with your already existing Prime membership, so that’s already a great benefit (and an easy way to give it a shot, too). Basically the way it works is similar to your online shopping experience, where you fill your “box” instead of a regular shopping cart. The box must have at least three or more items across clothing, shoes, and accessories, and you have seven days to choose what to keep.
It’s pretty genius on Amazon’s part, honestly. They already sell a massive amount of clothing, so they may as well give users incentives to order more. In addition to the try-before-you-buy system, you get 10% off your order if you choose to keep three or four items, and 20% off if you keep at least five items. And last but certainly not least, Amazon provides a prepaid label for easy returns via UPS drop-off or even a free pick-up.
Now, not everything that falls under the clothing or fashion category is eligible for Prime Wardrobe. But Amazon claims that over a million items across men’s, women’s, girls’, boys’, and baby clothing from the most popular brands are eligible.

Amazon’s new service might be reminding you of similar ones like SprezzaBox and Stitch Fix, but with these, you do not choose what clothing comes in your box. To me it seems like a better option to be able to choose exactly what comes in the box, especially since this makes it super easy to make sure I’m getting the right size.
Not only is this an easy thing to try out for most of us, but you also know that you will get your items within two days. The lack of timely shipping tends to dissuade people from buying clothes online in the first place.
If you remember the Echo Look that was announced recently, these two could probably mesh pretty well together. Once you have your choice of clothing, Amazon’s StyleCheck app feature will have AI scores for your fashion decisions.
Prime Wardrobe is currently in its beta stage and if you’d like, you can choose to be notified when it launches right on the announcement webpage.
