Good Reads: Summer book suggestions for all ages to enjoy

Looking for a great book to read this summer? Often I feel like there are so many worthy titles out there and not enough time to read them all. Summer has begun and luckily it’s the one time when we can catch up on our reading lists. Keep scrolling to find out what your new favorite book will be.

Summer goes hand in hand with lazy days and long warm evenings. This is one of my favorite seasons for reading. I have always been a bookworm, burying my nose into stories and falling in love with characters, but there’s something about the summer-time that makes reading much more enjoyable. There is nothing more relaxing than reading by the pool or on the beach. I also love reading a few chapters before bed each night.

I’m rounding up a few book suggestions for each person in the family. If your looking for a page turning thriller or a romance novel there’s a book on this list for everyone.

Thrillers for Men or Women:

Some of the best beach reads are one that scare you and keep you glued to your seat. The River at Night is about a reunion and getaway with three best friends. They choose to go hiking in a remote area and what starts out as a fun trip quickly turns into a nightmare. The Woman in Cabin 10 is about a travel writer that boards a week-long luxury cruise thinking it’s going to be the best week of her life. She shortly finds out she’s on board with a killer. Lastly, Behind Closed Doors is about a picture perfect couple from the outside as they appear to be madly in love, but very quickly you realize that something in their relationship is very wrong.

Books for Women:

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty is from the obsessed HBO miniseries. It follows three moms at a private elementary school, and each one has a secret to hide. This book has a very shocking ending so make sure to not let anyone spoil the fun! The Sun is also a Star is a romance about a heart wrenching story and first love. Lastly, Fates and Furies gives vivid descriptions and has memorable characters, that talks about two halves of a marriage over the course of a lifetime.

Books for Men:

All the Light We Cannot See is a New York Times bestseller about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in France as they both try to survive the devastation of World War II. I love a true story and the Last Man Off is a man’s ultimate test of survival on the antarctic sea. Another great book is Unbroken. Based off the movie this book is about a World War 11 survival story.

Books for Kids:

Whether you have a little one of your own or have some baby showers to attend this season, here are some great books for kids. Olivia and the Fairy Princess stars a precocious piglet in the midst of an identity crisis. See you in the Cosmos is about a space-obsessed boy and his dog that take a journey toward family, friendship, and fun.  Lastly, What do Grown-ups Do All Day takes you through fifteen different work places from a school to a construction site to a newsroom.
