STEMosaur is an educational toy kids get to put together themselves

Say “hello” to STEMosaur! It’s a new Smart toy for kids that can answer questions, tell jokes and you can even take it a part to learn a lesson or two in coding. This smart dino-pal is currently being funded on Indiegogo and with just 9 days left in its campaign, the creators guarantee their product will be shipped in time for the holidays.

When you first get your STEMosaur, your child begins by going through a hands-on tutorial on how to put it together. As soon as STEMosaur is assembled, you can ask it questions and it can tell jokes and play games to inspire “imagination and creativity in your kids.” Also, as your kids get older, the STEMosaur can grow too with updatable subjects and learning materials. It can even adapt to your kids learning level to ensure that they are being challenged and entertained.

The little guy works by connecting to available Wi-Fi and you can set it up with an Android or iOS app. Your child can wake STEMosaur up by pressing a button on his belly and then his mouth will light up to show that he is listening. When he speaks his deep voice comes from one of the speakers located near his nose.

When your child puts STEMosaur together they get a little introduction to some basic engineering. Then they can start learning about all sorts of subjects. When they’re ready they can go online to work on the coding panel. It’s basically a simple browser-based flow chart that can teach your kid fundamentals of coding. Some of the things they’ll be able to do once they open up the panel include customizing the responses given by STEMosaur. For instance, your kids can get STEMosaur to tell their own jokes instead of the preset ones or many other options in the programming.

If the experience is fun, kids will stay curious and keep coming back for more. We designed STEMosaur with this exact principle in mind. We want to get kids excited about learning, while having fun doing it!

With just 9 days left in its campaign, STEMosaur has already met its fundraising goal of $25,000 by nearly twice that amount. You can get your own STEMosaur with a pledge of $119 or more from the early bird specials. That’s $20 off the expected retail value and the current lowest you can get it for. If all goes as planned, STEMosaur will make it to backers in time for the holiday season.
