SOL debuts its very first over-ear Bluetooth headphones at CES + much more

SOL Republic is one of those companies that has capitalized on the popularity Beats headphones have carved out over the years. It has successfully created similarly fashionable products while maintaining a big enough price gap from Apple’s flagship drivers to remain competitive. It has been quite a while since we got refreshed cans from the company, but it looks like it is now ready to unveil its latest and greatest for CES 2018

This year’s next generation headphones mark the first new products for the company in two years, as well as its very first jump in to the on/over-ear Bluetooth space. I guess better late than never.

First up is the new Shadow Fusion Wireless in-ears. An updated version of the brand’s Shadow Wireless lineup, this set features magnetic earbuds, rain and sweat resistance (IPX5) and what SOL describes as “lightweight comfort all day long.” The are ready to begin shipping with the included Stash Bag come Q2 2018 at a suggested retail price of $149.99.

Built upon the philosophy that great sound and innovative design should be attainable for everyone, their product lineup for the upcoming year welcomes the brand’s newest audio gear since 2016 including the first on-ear and over-ear Bluetooth headphones.

From there we have the company’s new over/on-ear offerings with the new Soundtrack Wireless and Soundtrack Pro Wireless headphones. The first of which features a foldable design, 20+hour battery life, built-in microphone/controls and a $169.99 price tag.

The Pro model jumps the price up to $249.99 along with the 24+ hours of battery life. We are getting 50mm drivers cushioned with “Sonicsoft” memory foam and the same Q2 2018 release date.

An extension of the Soundtrack Wireless headphones, the Soundtrack Pro Wireless offers 24+ hour battery life for a day’s worth of high-performance listening through 50mm drivers. Their over-ear cushions are memory foam Sonicsoft offering long-wearing comfort for the user whose life is music.

By the looks of it, SOL isn’t pricing its latest gen offerings quite as competitively as in the past. However, previous gen versions compared quite well to more expensive cans, so we can’t wait to hear what these things sound like. Clearly SOL has had plenty of time to master the art of Bluetooth cans, so it really has no excuses to be made in that department.

Stay locked to Toys as the week rolls on for all the best announcements from CES 2018.
