Mechanical keyboards have enjoyed a resurgence of sorts lately as brands like Das Keyboards and others have flooded the market with high-quality devices. Along with larger brand names, more boutique-focused releases have hit the scene as well with unique features and designs.
One of those is from Rama Works, who recently unveiled its new M60-A keyboard made from milled aluminum and brass. Available for pre-order today, this $360 accessory is pricey for sure, but Rama believes its components are worth it.
Rama Works has been developing various PC and Mac accessories for some time now, which includes cable, organizers and more. Its designs standout with a heavy focus on metal materials and sleek colors. The new M-60A caught our eye with its throwback styling reminiscent of some of Apple’s older keyboards that’s mixed with a beefy aluminum and brass base.
If you landed on this article for details on the mechanical keyboard, you’re surely wondering what kind of switches Rama has opted for here. Cherry MX was the model of choice, which has become increasingly popular in recent years.
Each M-60A base is expertly milled from a single piece of brass and aluminum to its final shape. It’s then polished and beadblasted prior to the components being added. A final PVD coat and anodization is applied to ensure the “perfect color”.
In typical fashion, this keyboard skips the wireless connectivity in favor of USB-C. It goes a step-further, however, with integrated RGB LED lighting underneath the keys. All of this makes the M-60A one of the more unique offerings we’ve seen in recent years. Particularly its blend of materials and features that you might otherwise find on gaming keyboards makes this option a standout from the crowd.
The question is, are you willing to pay $360 for Rama’s latest creation? For most, that’s probably a hard pass. But the M-60A definitely has some vibes that are worth a glance if you’re into the custom keyboard scene. It’s available for pre-order today with an estimated “mid-2018” ship date.

Rama Works announces M60-A mechanical keyboard
The M60-A represents the benchmark and equilibrium between function and design for us at Rama Works. The gently exaggerated design of the frame is not understated, but rather provocative. Inspiration and evolution from previous models are evident in the beautifully articulated design and the well defined aesthetic, the fingerprint of our ‘Industrial Modern’ designs. The M60-A offers a unique contender in the traditional 60% form factor.
Expertly milled down from a single piece of solid brass & aluminium to it’s final shape, hand polished to a mirror finish & beadblasted to a high grit finish, then PVD coated or anodized to the perfect color.
In an effort to provide the best end-user experience available, this board requires no soldering to construct with any Cherry MX-compatible switches. The M60-A offers a USB-C connection attached to the USB Extension PCB. There will be additional PCBs also available for individual sale. The board includes in-switch RGB LEDs under the PCB, which require no installation. PCB design by Wilba.
