Living in a home crafted entirely from LEGO may be a dream for many fans of the interlocking brick system. And while brick-built real-estate may be a hope of the future, outfitting your home with LEGO bookshelves, drawers and other furniture may not be as far out there of an idea. At least that’s the intention behind the latest line of modular furniture from the Italian design studio Nine Associates.
Deemed Stüda, the recently unveiled furniture brings any LEGO fanatics brick-built dreams to life in the form of modular and colorful home accessories. Coated almost entirely in LEGO-compatible studs, Nine Associates’ latest endeavor allows you to use the bricks to customize your home to your heart’s content.
Set to debut later this month at Milan Design Week, Stüda is made of a solid surface material called Corian and is available in three different sizes as well as a variety of colors to suit a variety of home aesthetics. Thanks to the unique composition, the furniture is not only durable, but also easy to clean.
The furniture comes in a variety of different forms to suit your LEGO needs. And even if none of them appeal to you, Stüda’s modular nature makes it even more adaptable to fit into your home. It should be no surprise that we’re big fans of Stüda here at Toys, and I for one would greatly welcome Nine Associates’ furniture into my home.
These certainly won’t fit everyone’s home decor taste, but Stüda enters as a stylish way to meld LEGO with your everyday life in a conventional way.
As of now, there’s unfortunately no word on if or when Nine Associates’ Stüda furniture will be available to the pubic. Given the Italian origins, an international release may be likely, so fans can still hold out hope for someday having the LEGO apartment of their dreams.
Even if decking out your home with Nine Associates’ Italian furniture doesn’t become a realistic possibility, you can always make your own by slapping some LEGO-compatable tape on any surface.
