If you love technology and riding motorcycles, you may want to start saving your cash for the upcoming Jarvish X-AR motorcycle helmet. While Jarvish is not a well-known company, it has garnered quite a bit of attention since the announcement of its X-AR helmet earlier in the year. This can be attributed to features like front- and rear-facing cameras, integrated navigation, weather alerts, and more. With the addition of Alexa, users will also have access to 15,000 skills while on-the-go.
It feels like nearly everything we buy today tries to pitch itself as a smart device. From light switches to toothbrushes, manufacturers are constantly on the lookout for ways to stay ahead of the competition. Jarvish’s upcoming X-AR motorcycle helmet is no exception.
The X-AR helmet packs every feature you could possibly want and with the addition of Alexa, the list just keeps growing. For starters, users will be able to record full 360-degree footage of their ride, making this helmet a dash cam on steroids.
As you would expect, it packs a heads-up display that shows your current speed and the time of day. Features you may not have expected are built-in navigation with the corresponding speed limit, current weather conditions, and metadata for the current music or podcast that is being played.
In addition to seeing the metadata for current audio, you will also be able to hear it without the need for headphones, thanks the helmet’s built-in speakers. A built-in microphone allows you to make and receive calls during your commute.
With the announcement of Alexa integration, riders can also expect access to the assistant’s 15,000 skills while riding, enabling them to create reminders, ask for the news, or even order a pizza. Pretty impressive tech, that’s for sure.
While many commutes are short, riders will have to bear in mind the duration of their travels due to battery constraints. While the product has not been released yet and numbers may vary in the finished product, it sounds like the X-AR helmet will offer about four hours of usage between charges.
Jarvish plans to ship the X-AR helmet within the next year, with a target of early 2019. No pricing information has been offered at this time, but it is not hard to anticipate a high-price when considering all the technology packed into this helmet.
The company is currently offering a limited launch-day deal that promises up to a hefty 35% off when fans sign-up using their email address.
