Fall essentials for a memorable season from $19

I was cleaning up my backyard one-night last week, and I felt it. There was a little bit of a breeze, and I knew that Fall was coming. Fall is the greatest season of the year. Football is back. Light jackets are back. Cornhole is back Cider is back. I’m ready to spend cool October days watching football, cooking out with friends, watching my kids play in the leaves.

With summer, it’s all about staying cool. With fall, options are endless. Do you want to grill out? You can do that. Do you want to drink warm Apple cider on the porch? You can do that. Do you want to build a fire? You can do that. I love fall, and here are some of my essential fall items.

Grilling – from $400

I wrote up a detailed grilling guide earlier this summer, so I won’t repeat it all here. If you want to spend a lot of time this fall in front of the grill, check out my guide for all the accessories you’ll need.

For an actual grill recommendation, my current go-to model is the Weber Spirit II E–210. I’ve got the first generation of this model, and it’s been really great. It uses an Infinity ignition that is guaranteed to fire up every time. It comes with folding side tables and integrated hooks on the side for storing utensils. It has 360 square inches of cooking space and 90 square inches in the warming rack.

The Weber Spirit II E–210 is $400, but it’s well worth the price. Lower-cost gas grills can often be made with inferior parts that begin to rust after a few years. The Weber Spirit II E–210 is backed by a ten-year warranty, so you’ll be grilling tasty dishes for many years to come.

CornHole – from $33

Nothing says fall football season like CornHole during halftime. While the burgers and steaks are cooking, you can compete against your friends by throwing corn bags into a hole to see who is the best. It’s a game that, on the surface, makes no sense. Nevertheless, it’s awesome. If you want a heavy duty set, check out this GoSport set that is regulation size. If you want something more lightweight, check out this portable set. It folds up into a carrying case, and it is only ten pounds.

Warm drinks – $19

I love to enjoy warm coffee and apple cider during the fall, but you need the appropriate outdoor mug. Check out this outdoor camping mug. It’s perfect for camping, hiking, or just sitting around a fire pit. Another bonus: it’s dishwasher safe.

Firepits – from $48

If you don’t want to dig a fire pit in your backyard, there is a wide selection of portable options. AmazonBasics’ has multiple sizes. There is a 26″ foldable one for $48. They also have a steel lattice 23.5″ model for $75.

If you want to avoid a real fire (and the cleanup), check out this propane fire pit for $218. The great thing about a propane model is you can enjoy short sitting sessions without having to use wood, start a fire, etc.

Outdoor Music – $67

My current favorite outdoor speaker is the UE WonderboomDon’t let the small package fool you, it delivers massive, crisp, clear 360-degree sound so you can liven up the fall cookouts or tailgates. It plays up to ten hours on a single charge, and you can also pair it to a second Wonderboom to create a stereo pair.
