Amped Wireless begins accepting preorders for the first long-range 802.11ac router

AC wireless technology keeps inching us closer to broadband bliss by allowing users to stream incredible amounts of data across their home or office networks.  Amped Wireless is pushing this technology even further by introducing the industry’s first long-range 802.11ac router.  The RTA15 WiFi router sports three high gain, 5dBi antennas and ten total power amplifiers to help extend its reach “up to three times greater coverage than standard 802.11ac routers.”

This router also features five gigabit wired ports and a USB port for file sharing.  The growing adoption of 4K media and an increased number of wireless devices has necessitated the need for an ultra-fast home/office network.  Apple jumped aboard the AC bandwagon last month when they released brand new MacBook Airs and updated Time Capsules, both with the new wireless technology.

The Amped Wireless High Power RTA15 Wireless Router retails for $190 but Amazon currently has it listed for $186 with availability beginning July 20th.
