As retailers across the country faced an onslaught of online shoppers, Motorola found themselves battling a website being crippled by customers attempting to order their discounted Moto X. As the company missed its own self-imposed deadline to come back online, they promised to offer two additional sales of the Moto X and are making good on that promise.
An apology penned by CEO Dennis Woodside offers details on the two additional days:
“Here is what we are going to do: Starting at 12 pm EST/9 am PST this Wednesday, we will relaunch the $349 promotion. To help make up for this major inconvenience to shoppers, we will also add an additional promotional day on Monday, December 9. We will double the quantity of phones available, while supplies last, to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of the promotion. We’re also extending the 30% off offer on accessories to these two days,” wrote Woodside.
Woodside penned an entire apology on the company’s website even as many joked how a Google-owned company could have such an issue staying online. Regardless, the company is making good on its promise to offer additional days of sale to make up for the downtime and that’s what really matters in the end.
