Friday’s best game deals: Metal Gear Solid collection $24 low, Dragon’s Dogma 2 $56, more

39% off From $24

While we all await the release date for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta (and remain incensed after GameStop “played us like a damn fiddle”), Amazon is now offering deals on the official Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 to get you ready. You’ll find the Nintendo Switch version down at $24.55 with free shipping for Prime members or in orders over $25, while the PS5 and Series X|S copies are down at $29.99 Prime shipped. Regularly $40, this is at least 25% off and marking a new Amazon all-time low on the Switch version at 39% off. Metal Gear is a storied and wonderfully convoluted franchise. It’s no easy task to get caught up on the the timeline/story, but this collection can certainly help. It reaches way back to the 8-bit origins, delivering copies of Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear (NES/FC version), and Snake’s Revenge, alongside a host of add-ons and extras in the package. Update: GameStop has now admitted it was incorrect about the release date. Nooooooooo, Snaaaaaaakkkkkeeee!

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater has to be one of my most anticipated game releases of the year (or ever) – I grew up up playing these games, my X (Twitter) profile pic is a classic image of Snake, and, more importantly, GameStop might have just leaked the release date!!! A new trailer for the game debuted at the epic Xbox Game Showcase over the weekend – it looks incredible – and a new video featuring the game landed on the Konami YouTube channel today announcing the pre-orders (now live on Amazon on PS5 and Xbox, if you’re quick), and it looks like it might be releasing on November 17th! Details below.

Update: Today’s State of Play showcase served up a new gameplay trailer for Silent Hill 2 as well as the release date: October 8, 2024.

Fans of the Silent Hill series are on for treat this evening as Konami has announced the next Silent Hill Transmission showcase. It marks the first of its kind since way back in 2022 when the Silent Hill 2 remake first made an appearance alongside some spin-off titles, but today’s show will almost certainly have at least something to say about the anticipated horror experience. In fact, we are in for quite a lengthy show tonight, albeit one split between games, the upcoming film, and some other goodies, for fans of the not-so constantly long-running series. Head below for details on tonight’s Silent Hill Transmission showcase.

The teaser trailer was short and sweet, but there was much to be gleamed from the announcement alongside some new in-engine screenshots and the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection: Volume 1. So let’s go over everything down below.
