The debate on whether or not to keep the headphone jack around has been an extremely prominent discussion in the past few months. For those who don’t yet wish to give up their favorite pair of wired headphones, Podo Lab’s Jack may be the solution. The adapter adds wireless functionality to any pair of headphones, or speaker.
If you’ve grown fond of recent 3D printer developments, you may be interested in this Kickstarter project. Snapmaker is the all-metal 3D printer that lets the average user do just that, laser engraving, and CNC carving. The team currently has a prototype built and is looking for enough backers to speed up further development.
IKEA is ready to take the smart home products market over with its new affordable Trådfri lineup (Swedish for wireless). The ZigBee-enabled system will center around an internet/app connected hub and will consist of a series of smart bulbs, remotes, motions sensors, cabinet door/wall lighting and more.
With the release of NES Classic late in 2016, it seems like interest in vintage gaming is more popular than ever before. So it’s no surprise that companies are looking to cash in on this trend. The latest of which is STOA out of London, who are cranking out gorgeous handmade arcade cabinets by hand. With bright colors and modern designs, these are a must-see for any gaming enthusiast.
Since beginning yesterday, Baselworld, one of the worlds largest watch and jewelry exhibitions, has already showcased various new smartwatches from prominent companies like Fossil. Samsung too took to the stage and unveiled several smartwatch concepts, but standing out prominently from the rest, is a smart pocket watch hybrid.
In collaboration with renowned Swiss watch designer Yvan Arpa, Samsung pairs the internals of its Gear S3 smartwatches with a traditional pocket watch casing. While still a concept project, Samsung hasn’t released any details on the device’s release, so don’t expect to pick one up anytime soon if at all. Regardless, it’s great to see some variety from smartwatches, especially those that combine classic design with modern functionality in the way that Samsung has here.
Under Armour first released its limited edition 3D-printed Architech shoes last year, making available just 96 pairs to the general public. If you missed out (you probably did), UA is gearing up to offer its new Futurist shoes that use the same technology. That means its latest release will feature a 3D-printed “dynamic lattice network” that is designed to provide unparalleled comfort and support. Big promises from a shoe company looking to set itself apart from established players in this space.
So what does the dynamic lattice tech bring to your feet? Under Armour says that by going the 3D-printer route, it can create a stabilization system that supports heavy weight lifting activities and more movement-heavy exercises. The proprietary UA Speedform Upper features a memory-like molding capability that re-adjusts to your feet each time the pair of shoes are slipped on. Regardless of the tech and marketing lingo mentioned here, it’s pretty cool to see 3D-printing tech continue to make in-roads in this product category. Interested in UA’s latest release? You’ll need to be ready to buy the $300 pair of shoes on March 30th at 6PM for a chance.
Whilst the mainstream adoption of 4K and 5K monitors is finally underway, Dell has leapfrogged the consumer market. The company has just launched the Dell UltraSharp UP3218K, claimed to be the ‘world’s first’ 8K consumer monitor. Touting a 7680×4320 resolution, it packs more than double the pixels of a 5K monitor and can display four 4K videos at native resolution simultaneously.
It also beats out many competing 5K monitors on pixel density, with 279 PPI across a 31.5-inch canvas. The cutting-edge technology comes at a hefty price; Dell is selling the monitor right now for a cool $4999.

Logitech has announced its new MK850 Wireless Multi-Device Keyboard and Mouse combo that is designed for users that depend on multiple platforms to get things done. A strong focus on comfort and productivity headlines a list of features on this $100 bundle. We’ve long been fans of Logitech’s line of multi-device keyboards, which are perfect for switching between your Mac and iOS device. Logitech is purposeful is offering a keyboard that is quite different from Apple’s official offerings.
One of the more intriguing features is the connectivity between the mouse and keyboard. A press of the Fn key performs secondary gesture controls on the mouse. This brings a blend Logitech’s MX Master and Apple’s Magic Mouse to the mix that is rather unique in comparison to similar products on the market. In typical Logitech fashion, you can count on crazy battery life up to three years on the keyboard and two for the mouse. Both connect via an included Unifying USB receiver or Bluetooth low energy. Logitech’s MK850 bundle is available for purchase today for $100.
Remember that old game, Pong, from Atari? It’s been a while, but the team at the Table Pong Project has whipped up something that just might bring it back and into our daily lives. This project looks to be a rather futuristic approach to the classic game, where it is being brought from its digital form to a physical form. This Pong-infused coffee table includes the retro sounds and bouncing lights, and it maintains the same mechanics to stay true to the original gameplay. It’s not just any Pong-themed table, either, the Table Pong Project is officially licensed by Atari. It is meant for the home, the office, and even public bars.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pICmJjD-tY
What’s the magic behind all this? Well, the main component required to make the 2D movement illusion of the game possible, is magnets. The minimalistic design is aimed to bring back memories of the X generation, as it is a mixture of modern tech and arcade machines from the 80’s. As for the features, the table includes the Pong game, a digital clock, Bluetooth speakers, and 4 USB charger ports. To set it on stand by mode, close the custom design lids and you have a regular, neat and retro looking coffee table. The Table Pong Project plans to start shipping in November on Kickstarter, and you can pre-order it now for $1,100 (limited units) before it reaches $1,690 later this year.
With warmer weather rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about outdoor activities. Of which, one of my favorite is spending time on the water. That’s why Hypar’s new Folding Kayak caught my attention. At less than 20-pounds, it quickly transforms from a full-on kayak to a compressed unit small enough to fit in your luggage. That means that taking your vessel on an airplane just went from a non-starter to an absolute reality. Sure, we’ve seen foldable kayaks before but Hypar stands out from the bunch with a few notable features.
First, it has a hard shell outer that should offer better protection in comparison to similar inflatables. Each pre-folded sheet of polypropylene is designed to withstand up to 20,000 cycles before any leaking occurs. That’s obviously a big promise, but you wouldn’t want any less from a modular kayak. It has a standard bow front that you’d expect but the design gets interesting as it goes decidedly horizontal to meet the surface of the water. The goal here is to create a smoother ride and less friction versus comparable kayaks that are taller. Hypar is slated to launch its new product on April 11th on Indiegogo with a price of $750.
Lego just announced that it will be giving the Ultimate Collector Series treatment to the fan-favorite Star Wars T-47 Snowspeeder (75144). Featuring over 1,700 pieces, the Snowspeeder measures over four-inches high, 15-inches long and 11-inches wide. The set includes two minifigures, a Rebel pilot and a Rebel gunner, and a stand that adds a display plaque to showcase information about the iconic Star Wars spaceship.
The UCS Snowspeeder launches later this year on May 4th and will retail for $199. If you’re like us and can’t wait to build it, there’s plenty of other UCS Star Wars sets you can add to your collection.
Mercane’s latest product offers something we’re not used to seeing here at Toys, an electric vehicle with more than two wheels. Standing out from others on the market, Transboard’s three-wheeled design aims to provide a more balanced and comfortable ride.
Lexar is expanding its lineup of USB flash drives today with the release of the new JumpDriveTough. Available in 32, 64 and 128GB configurations, the USB 3.1 drives are designed with speed and protection in mind. As the name suggests, these drives are made to be resistant to impacts or pressure, harsh weather conditions (-13°F to 300°F) and even waterat up to 98 feet. More details below:
Portable grilling is hardly a new phenomenon, but while there are plenty of options on the market, few are able to blend good looks and functionality in this manner. The Lotusgrill out of Germany looks to bridge the gap with its “easy-to-use” lighter gel system. It is operated by four AA batteries that help ignite the heat source that can produce temperatures up to 660-degrees Fahrenheit. The fire itself is contained within a steel double-walled bowl that also houses a charcoal container and the cooking surface.
Smokeless grills are particularly enticing for apartment dwellers looking for a way to capture the BBQ experience without the mess. Lotusgrill promises all of that with a clean design that can get up to temperature in as little as three minutes. Because the outer shell doesn’t get hot, you can put it on just about any surface. It weighs in at around 8-lbs. and is 14-inches in diameter. The Lotusgrill is available for purchase today at Sur La Table for $200, which is a 33% discount off the regular price.
The recently launched Hexagon aims to make your existing bike just a little smarter by adding a camera, turn-signals and plenty of sensors. Hexagon attaches to the back of your bicycle and serves as not only a rearview mirror, but also a ‘fitness tracker for your bike’.
By pairing the device with an iPhone and Android app, riders can peak at their devices to get a glance at what’s behind them. Live streaming is also supported, so you can broadcast your commute to all your pals. Rider’s activity is tracked by Hexagon, which syncs current speed, burned calories and distance to the app. A wireless handlebar remote is included to quickly snap a photo, record or activate your turn signal. The camera is available in two models, one that comes equipped with all the bells and whistles, and a lite version that forgoes the turn signals.
Hexagon can currently be backed on Indiegogo for the early bird price of $99, or $75 for the lite version. Regardless of which model you choose, Hexagon hopes to ship later this year in September assuming it reaches its funding goal.
Known for its craftsmanship and attention to detail, Grovemade is looking to its design sensibilities and precise execution with the new Aluminum Key Ring. Created from a solid-block of 7075 high strength anodized aluminum, it is both featherweight and “indestructible”.
Outside of the gorgeous design, it really doesn’t have many tricks up its sleeves, and is proud to say so. On top of the “lustrous polish” and engraved logo, you will, however, be able to crack open a beer with this thing no problem.
Lomography recently took the wraps off its new Automat Glass Magellan Instant Camera, a wide-frame device that has an impressive focal length and aperture. It uses a massive 38mm wide-angle lens that puts most instant cameras to shame. This allows the Magellan to capture an image from just one foot away, which is remarkably close for this type of device. It is a fully automatic camera that sets itself to f/4.5 or f/22, depending on the circumstances. One of my favorite features is the shutter release system that is built-in to the lens cap, which can be used from up to 15-feet away.
The new camera will be compatible with Fujimax Instax Mini film, which is widely available online. Lomography will also be including colored gel filters, exposure attachments, and a macro lens. Expected to ship in mid-April, the Lomo Instant Automat Glass Magellan will retail for $189. Film and batteries are not included with the bundle.
Anker makes some of our favorite iPhone and Android accessories on the market. Atop that list is its PowerLine Lightning cables, which are known for an extra strong design and materials. Anker has now unveiled the second generation, dubbed the PowerLine II Dura that includes a lifetime warranty…
Here at Toys, we’re used to covering different gear to outfit your living space, from massive 4K TVs, sound systems and more. Furniture has been quite scarce though, which is where the recently launched Sobro coffee table mixes it up.
Sobro offers a variety of features that set it apart from your standard coffee table. Most notably, the design centers around a variable-temperature refrigerator drawer. Multicolor LED accent lighting paired with a stereo Bluetooth speaker help set the mood whether you’re enjoying the latest blockbuster or throwing a party. Featuring a tempered glass top with integrated touch controls, you can fine-tune drawer temperature, lighting preferences and audio playback volume. It also offers two USB ports and two outlets for keeping your devices charged.
Sobro can currently be backed on Indiegogo for the early bird price of $499. While it has already met its funding goal, there are still two months to go before the campaign ends. If all goes well, Sobro is estimated to ship later this year in September.
The Stealth P-7 Electric Commuter Bike is notable for one particular reason, it has an incredible 90+ mile range. While there are a number of other features worth noting, the ability to go multiple days at a time without charging is what brought it to our attention. Many of the eBikes that we feature here on Electronicsforward top out at around 30 miles or so. What we love about the Stealth P-7 is that it manages to add significant range without bulking up the frame too much. It’s certainly not as sleek as the Urban X, but the potential for three times the range is a worthwhile trade-off for me.
Coming in at 64-pounds, the P-7 is powered by a 950Wh battery that can offer varying degrees of pedal-assist for riders. A hardware upgrade is required to achieve the 90-mile range referenced above. A basic P-7 unit can provide around 60-miles. Both are currently available at Kickstarter for backing, starting at $4,000. Aside from the impressive range, Stealth has included an on-board computer that provides key data points like battery power remaining, distance traveled and more. If all goes to plan, Stealth is planning on shipping units in June.
It seems that recently, practically every company is throwing its hat into the smartwatch ring, from traditional watch companies like Casio and Tag Heuer, to Verizon and ZTE. Montblanc’s recently unveiled Summit features a more luxurious design than your typical smartwatch.
Summit features a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 400 x 400 resolution. It runs Android Wear 2.0, features several exclusive Montblanc watchfaces and has Google Assistant integration. Summit charges via a magnetic puck and is equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate monitor as well as a barometer and electronic compass. The smartwatch is also rated at IP68 for water resistance. Pricing starts at $890 for the stainless steel models, but increases to $1,020 for the titanium casing. Several bands are also available, so you can choose between multiple colors of leather, rubber, calfskin and if it suits you, even alligator. It will initially go on sale online later this year in May in both the US and UK.
The 8-bit music heard in many of the classic games from the NES-era holds a special place in the hearts of gamers. While those chiptune sounds are the result of hardware restraints on the audio side of things inside ofthe old consoles (really basic on-board synthesizers so-to-speak), composers were forced to get creative and make-do. Today, these sounds are very sought-after by some modern producers, despite the lo-fi approach.
These types of sounds can certainly be achieved in modern music production suites like Logic and GarageBand, but there is nothing quite like dedicated hardware when it comes to 8-bit synthesis. That’s where the folks at Arcano Systems and the NES Chiptune Synth II come into play.
Earlier this week, we told you about the electric Bajaboard and just yesterday we noted UrbanX that turns any bicycle into an eBike. Moving to today, it’s time to dive into the 121C Arc Aileron, the “world’s first” pure carbon electric skateboard. With its sleek looks, you wouldn’t be hard-pressed to imagine Jony Ive giving a 30-second spiel about its thin frame. An internal 133WH lithium ion battery supplies 11 miles of range at top speeds of 22mph. It’s also water-resistant and can support inclines up to 22%.
What really makes this electric skateboard standout from the competition is its carbon fiber build. Arc states that it’s the first of its kind, but regardless, its gorgeous. While the frame may be light weight, it does raise some questions about durability. Skateboards are known to taking a beating and that would be a potential concern of mine here but you’re probably not grinding down many rails. The choice to go with a carbon fiber frame puts the total weight under 10-pounds, which is around 33% less than comparable models. Much like the Bajaboard, this electric skateboard is also controlled with a handheld wireless remote that looks a lot like a Wii nunchuck. Currently a pledge of around $900 will deliver a unit in June if all goes to plan.
Coverage of eBikes isn’t anything new here at Toys, ranging from stylish, rugged and practical designs. The recently launched UrbanX offers a drastically different take by offering a smart wheel which adds eBike capabilities to any existing bicycle. While other eBikes are much more costly and offer limited styles, UrbanX provides a relatively low-cost and lightweight design which compliments practically any style of bicycle.
UrbanX can be added to your bike in roughly 60 seconds, and provides speeds of up to 20 miles per hour within a 30 mile range. You can choose between six different wheel styles, which fit practically any make or model of bicycle. Like other eBikes, UrbanX also allows you to switch between full electric, pedal assist and traditional bike modes. A companion iPhone and Android app allows you to tweak the configuration of how these modes function. UrbanX can now be backed on Kickstarter at the starting price of $299 and has already reached over 100% of its funding goal. If all goes well, the wheel will ship later this year in July.
Remember the Etch A Sketch? That was a pretty cool toy back in the day but I was always frustrated with my inability to draw precise lines (unlike this guy). Perhaps Kickstarter’s latest darling, the Joto drawing robot was what I needed. After hitting the crowdfunding site a few days ago, this app-powered intelligent whiteboard has raised over $105,000, well on its way to fulfilling its $122,000 goal.
So how does it work? Joto connects to your device, Alexa, Spotify, or Slack to communicate updates, calendar events and news headlines. That’s right, something pertinent happens in your life and Joto will scribble out the message with its floating robotic arm. But back to my Etch-a-sketch woes, you can also draw on your iPhone or Android and it will be recreated with Joto. All-around, a pretty cool toy. Currently a pledge of $199 will deliver a unit at the end of the year.
Denon has been aggressively playing catch-up with Sonos in all areas of multi-room audio over the last few years. Its latest move is the new HEOS Bar, a home theater add-on that packs impressive features and a big-time price tag. Coming in at $899, the latest creation from Denon sits at $200 more than the Sonos Playbar. But the price difference might be warranted, given that the HEOS Bar sports four HDMI 2.0a inputs that support 4K video. For comparison, the Sonos model sports just a single optical input.
Of course, the HEOS Bar has access to popular services like Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music and others plus multi-room compatibility with the rest of Denon’s lineup. A three-channel design is meant to create the illusion of a surround sound setup. Alongside the Bar announcement was the unveiling of Denon’s HEOS Sub, a $600 add-on that brings more bass to the party. It’s powered by a class D amp that pushes dual 5.75-inch drivers. Denon is clearly making a push to dethrone Sonos, the question is, are they too late?
The recently launched Siempo smartphone hopes to help combat a huge problem facing many of us, lacking focus and wasting time. Siempo makes it easy to either be fully connected or present by offering a ‘less distracting’ operating system and plenty of features so you can be mindful about your smartphone use.
The phone features a four-inch screen with 8GB of internal storage. Siempo handles everything your typical smartphone does like texting, playing music and weather, and also comes equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and front and rear camera. To start, it will only support GSM phone networks like AT&T and T-Mobile.
Unlike most phones, Siempo lacks a traditional homescreen and instead uses a multi-purpose search box deemed the Intention Field. This is effectively the main portal to interacting with the device and allows you to find contacts, create reminders and even send messages. When you wake up, Siempo’s Mindful Morning feature can also replace your notifications with a series of meditation tasks, so you start the day out on a better note. Hardware-wise, Siempo has a dedicated button that allows you to temporarily disable notifications for a time length of your choice. Starting at $279, Siempo can currently be preordered over on Kickstarter. If all goes well with the campaign, the phone will be shipping later this year in December.
As alternative transportation has seen an increase in public interest over the last few years, one product that I’ve been interested in checking out is an electric skateboard. Now I really want one. The Bajaboard seemingly does it all with a rugged frame that can go places other electric four-wheelers can’t. It’s like a miniaturized dune-buggy for Tony Hawk. Thanks to an aluminum suspension system, you can hit speeds up to 31mph on the sidewalk or off-road. It fits the bill for commuters too, offering up to 22-miles of range on a full charge.
The Bajaboard is controlled via a handheld remote that includes a built-in LED display which communicates range, power remaining, distance traveled and more. Based out of Australia, it ships to many countries including the US. Prices start at $3,299 for the G4 model and $3,999 for the upgraded G4X that can handle bit more weight. The next batch is set to ship in April.
Capcom has seen success re-releasing some of its NES classics in the way of the Mega Man Legacy Collection and the DuckTales remaster. While it may not be the new Blue Bomber title we have been asking for, Capcom is set to drop the new Disney Afternoon Collection. It contains 6 Disney NES classics including Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2, and TaleSpin. More details below:
We’ve covered the intersection of technology and art before. From the Apple TV’s city flyover screensaver, to Soundwall’s Nova which pairs artwork with a wireless speaker. Alongside its new home entertainment lineup, Samsung announced The Frame, which pulls inspiration from both. The Frame isn’t just a typical TV though, it features an ‘Art Mode’ that complements your home decor, rather than being an eye-sore.
The TV itself features a thin bezel and lightweight design which allows it to hang virtually anywhere, giving it the function and appearance of a framed photo. Unlike conventional TVs which fade to black once your movie is over, The Frame displays one of hundreds of art pieces that range from depicting landscape, architecture, wildlife, and more. While there is still no pricing available for The Frame, it should be released sometime this spring.
V-Moda, a brand known for its quality audio and aggressive designs, has entered into the competitive Bluetooth speaker category today with its new Remix speaker. Made to serve as an extension of the brand’s other audio products, this wireless speakers has a few tricks up its sleeve. V-Moda naturally is pushing its latest creation as a high-end audio product that exudes clear sound no matter the source.
What makes the V-Moda Remix standout from the crowded Bluetooth market is the inclusion of a 83mW headphone amp that pushes out two-channel audio for high-end cans. With Apple dropping the 3.5mm port on iPhone 7, this helps bridge the gap for audio enthusiasts still rocking a wired setup. The built-in battery is charged via USB-C and can provide up to 10 hours of playback at a time. V-Moda is also offering a number of unique 3D-printed covers and accessories that start at $40 and go up to $370,000 (yes, you read that right… Platinum, baby). The speaker itself is available for purchase today for $300.
iPhone photography has taken off in recent years as the lenses and software have improved with each new iteration. Given the rise in popularity, third-party accessory makers have made a concerted effort to develop add-ons that improve upon Apple’s starting point. Bitplay recently introduced a new line of photography accessories called the Snap! 7 Series. Centered around a case for iPhone 7/Plus, a full line of interchangeable lenses and grips can be added to help aid your quest to find the perfect shot.
The Snap! line starts at $50 with the iPhone 7 case that can handle each of the attachments included in Bitplay’s line. From there, a variety of add-ons, including wide-angle and telephoto lenses can be added for as little as $50. Bitplay also offers wooden grips, leather straps and thumb rests that can be attached for a more traditional camera experience. For $80 you can grab the iPhone 7 starter kit that includes a few lenses, while 7 Plus users will need to shell out $150. Pre-orders are now available on each accessory with an estimated ship date before the end of March.
Ensuring that all of your online accounts are secure has become increasingly urgent as time goes on. But remembering the various, complex passwords that you may be using can be a pain. Other password managers exist, but are still reliant on a master password. Hideez Key hopes to simplify this by providing a small accessory which handles cybersecurity for you.
The Key is based on a thin, water-resistant keychain fob with both Bluetooth and RFID. While it has many of the features of other security managers such as securely storing passwords, and generating strong passwords. It can also autofill your signature onto documents and transactions. Other security features include protecting against someone walking off with your device, as well as allowing you to lock and unlock your gadgets based on your proximity. There’s also a multi-functional button which supports a number of features from authenticating yourself to sending your current location to a friend. The Key accomplishes this by connecting to a companion computer and smartphone app, which also allows you to tweak the Key’s settings. It is currently available for purchase over on Hideez’s site for $49 and is shipping now.
Vinyl records and mid-century modern design are two things that just seem destined for each other. Wrensilva’s latest luxury creation, the Loft Record Console, combines both with beautiful visuals and modern day technology. The $2,999 stand features a 300 watt per channel amp and belt-driven turntable that’s made to play your vinyl collection all day long. Wrensilva has wisely built-in a number of connectivity options on the Loft, most notably Sonos functionality that will allow listeners to beam music wirelessly throughout the house. The $2,999 base price delivers the console itself with a $1,499 upcharge delivering a pair of Wrensilva speakers and stands.
Harmonix knows its stuff when it comes to music-based games as the creator of both Rock Band and Dance Central. The developer has now teamed up with Hasbro to create a new DJ-like experience with its own hardware controller side of things. The system consists of the DROPMIX Board, NFC-equipped song cards and the companion iOS/Android app. Players drop a card on one of the Mix Slots and then the DROPMIX Board immediately starts playing the particular part (“bass, beat, loop or vocals”) of one of the many hit songs in the game. The corresponding software then analyzes the particular cards loaded into the board to create completely unique mixes using elements of each of the songs available:

Lamborghini is known for making some of the most beautiful high-performance autos out there. And now, the iconic brand is bringing its style to your wardrobe. Mizuno has partnered with Lamborghini to create the Wave Tenjin 2, a pair of sleek runners inspired by its namesake. Lightweight mesh made from polyester can be found throughout the shoe with a unique open-air heel underneath. Mizuno looks to the Lamborghini Aventador’s styling for inspiration on this shoe.
Back to the sole, which is made from a unique composite rubber and carbon fiber material that is designed to be lightweight but resistant to outdoor activity. By keeping it open, walking and running will have less impact on the knees, according to Mizuno. The new Lamborghini Wave Tenjin 2 Running shoes are available for $401 today.
We’ve covered a variety of wireless speakers, from ones that enhance your Amazon Echo, to others with Chromecast integration. Tivoli Audio’s latest product, the Model One Digital, features many of the things you’ve come to expect in a wireless speaker. But unlike the others, Model One Digital stands out by sporting a stylish design meant to accompany your home decor.
The Model One Digital features an outer shell comprised of either Walnut, White or Black wood, and accented by a brushed aluminum dial. Music can be streamed from popular services like Spotify, Tidal and more. It supports audio playback over FM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, as well as via a 3.5mm auxiliary input. A while back, we told you about the stylish Russian Post Indicator vintage tube clock, which has been a reader favorite over the last few months. Today, we spotted the new Albert Clock that we think you’ll like just the same. Featuring a bright LED display and retro styling, this tabletop timepiece tells time a little different that usual. Albert displays math problems that equate to the correct hour and minute. Aside from challenging your brain when you go to check the time, it’s always a fun and different twist on the usual digital or analog display.
My favorite part of Albert Clock is its bright and cheery design. The LED display pops the equations off the black background, while its outer-casing ships in three different saturated colors. As for the math problems themselves, there are four different difficulty settings, so you can match your skills appropriately. Not only is this a cool gift for any techie, but it also has some potential merit for kids learning simple mathematics. The Albert Clock is available for purchase today with a €279 list price, which works out to around $295.
You know what it’s like, you’ve bought your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus but you’re left with the unsatisfactory feeling that you just haven’t spent enough money. Louis Vuitton has the perfect solution to this problem with a new range of iPhone cases ranging in price from $1,180 to $5,500 …
The Amazon Echo and Echo Dot were two of the hottest gifts from this past holiday season. If you happened to receive one as a gift or picked up one for yourself, you’ll know how convenient it is to have Alexa at your beck and call. But for those who wish that the Echo Dot more portable, Ninety7’s new device might be perfect for you. Vaux attaches to the bottom of your Echo Dot and turns it into a portable, battery-powered Wi-Fi speaker.
Vaux’s design is a tad smaller than the full Amazon Echo and comes in your choice of either Ash or Carbon color schemes. Connecting via both the Micro USB port and 3.5mm aux input, Vaux offers a more powerful speaker than originally found in the Echo Dot and packs around 6 hours of battery life. Like most wireless speakers, it charges over Micro USB. Unfortunately, the speaker still does need Wi-Fi in order to take full advantage of Alexa and everything else the Dot has to offer. Vaux can currently be preordered for $49 from Ninety7’s website, but won’t ship until later this year in April.

There are plenty of products on Kickstarter these days that promise to alter the mind for a happier disposition or better life. Usually such examples are quick to be written off. But when an established brand like Onkyo partners with a startup and says it’s developed a new product that will boost concentration, our ears perk up. The new Mindset Bluetooth Headphones have built-in EEG or electroencephalogram sensors that measure electrical activity in the brain.
So how does it increase productivity? Aside from offering customizable settings that remove audio alerts from your connected devices, the built-in sensors are able to note when the brain becomes distracted. A change in the brain’s signaling cause the Mindset headphones to alert the user of distractions with subtle pings. The goal is to quickly move you back to a state of concentration. Of course, the Bluetooth headphones have all the expected features, like noise cancellation and memory foam earcups. Through just a few short days, this Kickstarter project has raised over $350,000, which is three times its initial goal. Currently, a pledge of $229 will deliver a unit in December.

It interacts with a companion computer application which allows you to design and create games with a visual, drag and drop interface. The kit also includes four prebuilt game-based inventions: Tug-of-War, Ultimate Shootout, Hot Potato and Rockstar Guitar. Littlebits’ latest kit retails for $300 and while it is available for purchase now, won’t be shipping until later this year in June. It you’re just too excited and can’t wait to start tinkering, Amazon has a deal on one of Littlebits’ other kits.
