It looks like Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong mobile games could be on the way. Some recent trademark filings by Nintendo are pointing at the possibility of new products or remakes from the iconic franchises.

If Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn’t clearly the biggest Nintendo release of the year, it is certainly one of the most anticipated. After announcing that every character in Smash history would be making an appearance at E3 2018, back in August director Masahiro Sakurai dropped a series of new characters, game modes and much more. This morning Nintendo broadcasted the final Smash Bros.-focused Direct event before release and it didn’t disappoint.
After Amazon dropped its top electronics of the year guide over the weekend, it’s now time to prepare for Nintendo Black Friday. This year is heating up quick and we expect Nintendo’s hit console to appear in just about every major ad of the year. The big N will, however, have a series of its own deals and is likely readying its usual Black Friday Edition hardware offerings. Head below for everything you need to know on how to get your hands on the special releases and the best deals on Nintendo gear for the holidays.
Perhaps one of the things that Nintendo is best-known for is its ability to cash in on nostalgia. If this was not evident before, the company’s NES and SNES classic console releases over the past couple of years have certainly highlighted it. With rumors floating around that Nintendo is working on an N64 classic release, it seems that the level of success that the company has seen may be partially responsible for Playstation making its own classic console. Whatever the case may be, today’s news is that Nintendo will be offering a special edition Diablo III-branded Switch console in a few weeks.
It’s been a few weeks since Nintendo finally debuted its Switch Online service. There’s been wide range of opinions, but many fans are flocking to the service to continue enjoying online play and indulge in some nostalgic NES gameplay.
Nintendo previously announced that it would be bringing three new titles to its roster of retro games. But this morning upon firing up the NES, players were greeted with a little something extra, a new version of The Legend of Zelda deemed Living the life of luxury! Head below for the full scoop.
Over the past few months, Nintendo has been gearing up for the holiday season with consistent announcements regarding new and upcoming Switch titles. Accessory makers have been jumping on the opportunity to benefit as well. This morning, Hori debuted a few new Pokémon-themed add-ons just ahead of Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee’s release next month.
It looks like we may be getting a new Nintendo Switch for 2019. The company is currently in development on an updated version of the hit gaming console, according to WSJ. After what has been an amazing run for Nintendo’s new hybrid machine this generation, sliding sales are apparently motivating the refresh.
The Nintendo Switch’s unique hybrid gameplay style and other functionality has given the console a place at the forefront of the gaming industry. Fans have been able to sink their teeth into everything from new first party releases to hit indie titles and even massively popular online games like Fortnite. So when thinking about what the future of Nintendo’s console holds, almost anything goes.
A new accessory is looking to push the Switch into a booming category in the gaming world. Soon you’ll be able to play your favorite titles in virtual reality. Head below to get a closer look at the upcoming Nintendo Switch add-on.
Update: the Enhanced Wireless Controllers are now available for preorder at Amazon.
Between new NES-styled Joy-Cons, Pro Controllers imbued with Super Smash Bros. theming, cardboard accessories and more, there are tons of different controller options to pair with your Nintendo Switch. One of the more well-known accessory makers, PowerA, is expanding that roster of gamepads today with two new controllers.
Trying its hand at recreating an old favorite alongside Nintendo’s latest, PowerA has debuted a new GameCube gamepad as well as its own take on the Pro Controller. Head below for all the details.
The Nintendo Switch has made its fair share of hacker headlines since its release in 2017. Within about a year, jailbreaks allowed for custom apps to run on the system. They even found a hidden version of NES Golf buried on there. Nintendo is certainly no stranger to passionate gamers taking matters into their own hands, considering all of the amazing, and very illegal, home-brew titles and unofficial online services. So with the Switch online service just kicking into gear this week, it was only a matter of time before hackers got down to business. We just didn’t think they would crack it this quickly.
Throw out everything you thought you knew about cardboard, Nintendo’s back with yet another of its Labo cardboard construction kits. This time putting you right in the driver’s seat of a car, plane and submarine, Nintendo has more than a few tricks up its sleeve for the new Vehicle Kit.
We got out hands on the company’s latest and after putting it to the test, it’s hard to not be thoroughly impressed. Nintendo has seriously upped its game and made its cardboard creations even more enticing. Head below to get an in-depth look at everything the Labo Vehicle Kit has to offer.

With the holiday season right around the corner, Nintendo is gearing up to sell as many Switch consoles as possible. From endlessly teasing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and showcasing several new themed consoles to announcing Animal Crossing and more, the company is building up the hype to excite fans. Now Nintendo is changing things up with its latest reveal in an attempt to appeal to a different type of gamer.
Today the company announced its latest console bundle, which throws the Switch onto the Battle Bus. That’s right, a limited edition Fortnite bundle is on the way. See what kind of loot is included by heading below.

Nintendo recently announced a brand-new controller for its acclaimed Switch console. This controller isn’t like the regular Joy Con or Pro Controller, but rather it’s a wireless NES controller for the Switch.
This is going to become a must-have for every Switch owner this Christmas, and it’s set to ship mid-December of this year. Why would someone want a controller like this? Keep reading to find out more.

Update 9/21 @ 3:35 PM: Now available for preorder at Amazon.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be getting all the attention from Nintendo as of late, but it’s not the only upcoming Switch title that has fans eagerly awaiting its release. Back in May we detailed how the first Pokémon titles would be coming to the Switch this fall, and today we’re getting a look at a new special edition console to go with the two releases.
Sporting a variety of Pikachu and Eevee insignia, the upcoming bundle includes two new Joy-Cons with fresh coats of paint alongside everything you need to catch them all. Head below for all the details.
(Update 9/14 11:48am): The Nintendo Switch version of Final Fantasy XV Pocket HD Edition is now available with launch pricing: $18 (Reg. $30).
Square Enix launched its latest entry in the storied Final Fantasy series in 2016 to critical praise (for the most part). That was followed up by a series of interesting DLC add-ons and then the Royal or complete Edition hit with loads of enhancements just before the iOS version dropped on the App Store. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition for mobile was initially revealed in summer 2017 before going live at the top of the year. But now it looks like a somewhat confusing series of events that led to a cancelled Nintendo Direct presentation is pointing at a wider rollout for Square’s handheld version of the game.
While the big time first-party release schedule for Switch has started to slow down a little bit over the last few months, clearly this will be the year of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The massive new Switch version of the storied franchise is set to bring back every playable character from the franchise’s past, along with a host of new fighters and much more. Ever since E3 2018, hype for Nintendo’s upcoming mascot brawler has continued to skyrocket, and it’s about to get even more interesting with the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Pro Controller bundle.
Earlier this year, Nintendo updated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to get support for its Labo cardboard construction kits. And just last month, we also got a look at the upcoming Vehicle Kit. Today Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing the very same support for its latest Labo release into the racing game as well.
The Nintendo Switch is in hundreds of thousands of households, if not millions. It quickly became one of the best-selling consoles of all-time and still is near the top. Something we’ve yet to see much of on Switch is applications outside of games, but that’s about to change.
(Update 8/17 4:20pm): The new Mario Tennis Aces Switch bundle is now up for pre-order at Walmart for $359 shipped.
Well, it’s that time of year again. All of the major gaming giants are beginning to unveil special bundle offers and limited edition consoles in preparation for the big shopping season in a few months time. Sony dropped the new 500 million Limited Edition PS4 Pro and Microsoft unveiled some new wireless controllers with more coming down the pipeline next week. Nintendo is already set for a massive holiday season with the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate just before Christmas along with the Limited Edition package, but now we are getting our first glimpse at the hardware offerings coming for the end of 2018.
After nearly a year and a half, it’s safe to say that the Switch is proving to be the console everyone thought it would be. And having already sold close to 20 million units, Nintendo is gearing up for the holiday season with the release of Smash Bros. Ultimate and a new Pokémon title. Whether you’ve just purchased a Switch or are looking to outfit the hybrid console with some new gear, we’ve rounded up our favorite accessories down below.
This morning, Nintendo riled up fans once again with a 30-minute long presentation, this time centered around Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. And while there were plenty of announcements for the eagarly-awaited fighting game, the new content didn’t stop when the Direct ended. Nintendo today also debuted the latest of its themed Switch bundles to coincide with the new titles’ release at the end of the year.
Nintendo hit us with another one of its Direct presentations this morning entirely focusing on the highly anticipated next entry in the Smash Bros. series. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was officially unveiled at E3 2018 and excitement has been growing ever since. Set to feature every single character from every game in the franchise, today Nintendo and director Masahiro Sakurai dropped another 25+ minutes of new details on the hottest upcoming Switch game of the year.
Fresh off of last week’s announcement of new themed Gamecube controllers for the Switch, Hori is back with yet another new accessory. This time around though, the company’s emphasis is on enhancing the out-of-the-box controls for the Switch rather than completely swapping it out. Wrapped in sleek Mario and Zelda-themed designs, Hori’s new controller brings the D-Pad back to Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Nintendo has an incredibly successful console generation with the Switch. The console has smashed records all over the place and is nearing 20 million in total sales. All of that sounds pretty impressive but the numbers have started to slide over the last quarter or so. After reporting 2.93 million and 7.23 million units sold in the previous two quarters, sales have slowed down to 1.88 million in the most recent three-month period. That number is still quite high, especially considering it’s the slowest time of year for console sales and the company hasn’t been cranking out as many big-time titles. However, Nintendo is going need an amazing holiday this year in order to meet its sales projections.
Nintendo kicked off 2018 with its surprising new line of Labo cardboard construction sets geared towards letting Switch owners build their own accessories and teaching them how to code at the same time. At launch only two kits were available, but now Nintendo has debuted its third addition to the series of Labo kits, this time centered around various vehicles. Hit the jump for the full scoop.
Nintendo has been getting a lot of love ever since the debut of its overwhelmingly-successful Switch console. With official partnerships being struck with lots of companies, including Anker, it is clear that Nintendo has the marketshare to be remain relevant for quite some time. Although it’s latest partnership with stationary and bag manufacturer, Moleskine, is one that I do not think many were predicting, I do anticipate that the new Mario-inspired notebooks, backpack, and phone case will be quite successful.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe may not have been the completely new, refreshed cart racing title Switch fans were hoping for when Nintendo’s latest console dropped, but it has been a great addition to the library nonetheless. It’s hard to imagine a new Nintendo console without an updated Mario Kart game to play on it, so it’s easy to see why Nintendo opted for a re-release of sorts while it toils with the next generation Mushroom Kingdom racer.
However, that’s not going to stop Nintendo from introducing new content to the game. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is getting a free Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild update that will see the titular character in his latest iteration enter the fray.
In today’s best game deals, Best Buy is offering Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle on Nintendo Switch for $29.99. However, those still with a GCU membership can grab the game for just $23.99. That’s one of the best prices we have ever tracked and well under the $54 you’ll pay at Amazon right now.
ICYMI: Here are the best console game releases for July: Captain Toad, Octopath Traveler, Sonic, more
Down below you’ll find more console game deals and new products. Your daily iOS/Mac app sales are on the way!
One of the biggest fears after the Switch’s initial announcement was that Nintendo’s latest console wouldn’t have any big system-selling titles. It was arguably the biggest problem facing its predecessor, the Wii U, an issue which loomed over the Switch well past its release. But now well over a year later, it’s pretty safe to say that Nintendo and the third-party developers that they worked with have been able to put together one of the most appealing lineups in the industry.
But Nintendo has no intention of slowing down, as the company is hoping to bolster the Switch’s game lineup with anywhere from 20 to 30 new titles each week for the foreseeable future.
The summer months tend to be slow for game releases while all of the biggest publishers blowout the next year or more of titles at E3. You’ll find all of our coverage of the biggest gaming event of the year right here, but it’s time to get back to the new games. July will see a couple re-releases and add-ons in the way of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for Switch and 3DS along side Sonic Mania Plus, Octopath Traveler and more. Head below for more details on all the best game releases of July 2018.
After showcasing an impressive roster of new titles and details for Super Smash Bros. 5 at E3 2018, Nintendo has continued to supply fans with news as we head into summer. In less than a month we’ve seen a notable new update to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with Labo integration, new 2DS designs and more. Today, Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing back the iconic Splatoon 2-themed neon green and pink Switch as part of a new bundle due out later this year.
Nintendo will soon release three new designs for its popular 2DS XL. The new variants are themed around Minecraft, Mario Kart, and Animal Crossing. As you would expect, each device comes with the matching game pre-installed and ready to play out of the box.
In today’s best game deals, Amazon and Best Buy have now knocked $5 off Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch. But that means those still with a GCU membership can grab the game for $43.99 shipped. That’s the best price around and a great deal on Nintendo’s flagship racer. It now has full Labo support and you can see our full hands-on review right here.
ICYMI: The Steam Summer Sale is here! and Nintendo is bringing Labo support to Mario Kart 8 so you can race w/ your cardboard creations.
Down below you’ll find more console game deals and new products. Your daily iOS/Mac app sales are on the way!
Earlier this week Nintendo announced that it would be pairing its newly-released cardboard accessories with the fan-favorite Switch title Mario Kart 8. While we took a look at what the team-up would mean for the hit racing game in our announcement coverage, we figured only a hands-on could really show if Labo’s first shot at mainstream use is worthy of the star treatment or if cardboard should stick to being a pizza box. So head below to see us put Labo’s cardboard motorbike accessory to the test.
Having been out for just two months, Nintendo’s recent cardboard-based endeavor, Labo, has been off to a great start. While fan reception has been solid across the board, at E3, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé went on the record saying that Labo met the company’s expectations and would definitely be something Nintendo is “going to continue to support well into the future.”
Many thought that we wouldn’t be seeing any significant updates to the DIY accessory platform until the end of the year at least, but last night Nintendo announced that Labo and Mario would be teaming up. Soon you’ll be able to pair your cardboard motorbike creation with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and try to tackle the Mushroom Cup in style.
The Nintendo Switch is a world-renowned gaming console at this point. With millions upon millions of units sold, Nintendo really has a hit on its hands here. At E3, the gaming icon announced games like Super Smash Bros. and others, but something that didn’t get much press was a dual-Switch gaming configuration that can really bring a new perspective to gaming.
Generally, gaming, though three-dimensional during gameplay, is very two-dimensional, even when doing multi-player. You’re both on the same screen (or your own screen) and each has a similar view to the other. It’s as if you each have an identical system giving you the same feedback, just at a different position on the track or map. Through the demoed gameplay at E3, this new two-Switch style of gaming could change that.
Well, we have now seen just about all of this year’s major announcements from Cyberpunk 2077 to Fallout 76 and everything in between, but now it’s Nintendo time. The company typically rounds out E3 just head of the show floor opening to the public with a pre-recorded video and this year is no different. We expected Super Smash Bros. for Switch to dominate the presentation, much like Breath of the Wild last year, and we were right. But Nintendo had a lot more than its iconic character fighter on display this year….
Today, Nintendo released a new game for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS systems. It’s called Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido. This action-puzzle game also has RPG elements, making it check a few of boxes that may make it appeal to a wider audience.
Nintendo’s Switch has been the recipient of many acclaimed games, and more are rumored to be announced at E3 in just about a week or so. One upcoming game that has everyone excited is Mario Tennis Aces. This weekend only, you’ll have a chance to try it out and participate in a pre-launch tournament.
It looks like two of the biggest things in gaming are about to come together if recent leaks hold any weight. Nintendo Switch has already absolutely destroyed sales numbers when comparing to both the Wii U and the Wii, not to mention Xbox One and PS4. Meanwhile, Fortnite has slowly taken the reigns in the battle royale space, seemingly leaving the originator, PUBG, in the dust. Well, now it looks Fortnite developer Epic Games may actually be bringing the most popular game out there to the most popular console.
Update: Pre-orders are now live at Best Buy and Amazon, more details below.
Last night, The Pokémon Company International in partnership with Nintendo announced the three latest titles in the Pokémon franchise, all of which will be making their way to the Switch. While one is a more casual, mobile-friendly game, the two new standouts, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, pack everything we’ve come to love about Kanto, but with a few twists that make it shine as the series’ first title to debut on the Switch.
While industry analysts have suggested that Nintendo’s insanely popular hybrid Switch console has already started to cannibalize the company’s handheld sales, that hasn’t stopped it from dropping a few more special edition 2DS consoles. The Pikachu and Poké Ball Edition machines come to mind. While we just reported on the new, mobile-focused Nintendo Switch bundle releasing in Japan, a brand new Zelda inspired 2DS XL is also coming down the pipeline this summer.
Nintendo Switch has been an absolute rampage since the day it launched. It has been crushing all kinds of sales records in the United States and Japan. In fact, Nintendo said it sold more Switch consoles in the first year of sales than Wii U across its entire shelf life. We all knew Wii U sales were weak, but that is pretty impressive. According to reports, it is the fastest selling console in both markets and that’s including the legendary PlayStation 2 and the revolutionary Nintendo Wii.
Needless to say, we shouldn’t be expecting any official price drops any time soon, but it does look like Nintendo is readying a more affordable, slimmed down Switch bundle.
Nintendo’s Classic Edition consoles have kinda taken the world by storm lately. We’ve given them away, loved them, and these pieces of remastered iconic tech can still be nearly impossible to get at retail prices.
The rumor mill is now churning, and apparently, Nintendo has applied for a new Nintendo 64 trademark, which can hopefully only mean one thing, an N64 Classic Edition must be close.
Earlier this year, during one of its Direct presentations, Nintendo teased a series of remakes along with some DLC for its new Switch titles. After introducing us to Luigi in Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo announced the next main DLC pack for Mario + Rabbids featuring Donkey Kong. We caught a brief story trailer back in January, and today we are getting the first major gameplay footage for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: Donkey Kong Adventure.
After the release of Resident Evil 6 back in October of 2012, many gamers began to feel both a fatigue on the series and were just generally unpleased with the direction it had been taking over the course of the last couple games. RE4 is easily one of the best games in the series and was able to strike a fantastic balance between horror, exploration and action. In an attempt to return the series to its roots and what made 4 so good, Capcom took RE7 in a new direction focusing almost solely on exploration, scares and immersion.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard released early last year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC to solid reviews. And now we are just days away from its first appearance on the Nintendo Switch, although the game doesn’t appear to be just your average port.
