CES 2019 is just around the corner in Las Vegas and many of the major players are already beginning to unveil their new products ahead of next week. Samsung is announcing a host of new monitors today including one unlike we’ve ever seen before. The new Space display sits directly flush against your wall with a design borrowed from its line of TVs. Back in 2015 Samsung first unveiled its Serif TVs, which at the time seemed like a radical departure from what had become the standard design of the last decade. In the years since, Samsung has tweaked this design in several ways. After adding 4K two years ago, we’re now getting our first glimpse of what the TV manufacturer plans to do with these models for CES 2019. It is highly likely that when you hear people talk about tracking keys or backpacks your mind instantly thinks of Tile. This is because Tile has been working on its trackers since 2012 and saw huge success when launching its crowdfunding campaign with pre-orders from over 50,000 backers by mid-2013. If you own a Tile tracker, you likely know that it has distance restrictions due the range of Bluetooth. In most cases this is fine when trying to find something nearby, but there would be a lot more use cases if the range could be extended. And that is exactly what Samsung has set out to do with its new SmartThings Tracker.

It seems that no matter how much storage we attain, we are always left wanting more. In the early days of computing, storage capacities were measured in megabytes and kilobytes. Over time we have not only adapted to most laptops and desktops packing gigabytes and terabytes of storage, we now live in a world where smartphones with half a terabyte of storage actually exist. Each time larger capacity drives come out, early adopters pay high prices to get their hands on them. Within a year or so after release, pricing begins to drop as manufacturers discover ways to cut costs. While Samsung has had highly priced 4TB solid state drives available for over 2 years, the company’s latest advancements will make these storage capacities more affordable.

One year after revealing new theater display technology at CinemaCon, Samsung has officially launched its new movie theater experience. They are calling it, “Onyx”. Up to this point, theaters have been known for using projectors to display their films, but Samsung hopes to change that with the release of Onyx.
