Custom Elite Series 2 Controllers are now a thing after being fully integrated into Xbox Design Lab. Taking to its official Xbox Wire this morning, Microsoft has announced that its Elite Series 2 Controllers can now be customized via its online Xbox Design Lab editor – an option it says has been the number-one most popular request since the service launched. While we first heard about playing Flight Simulator on the Xbox One through Xbox Cloud Gaming back in June of last year, the time has finally arrived. Microsoft is about to buy Activision Blizzard. In Microsoft’s continued attempt at global gaming domination, and after spending a small country’s fortune on Bethesda, it is about to fork out the equivalent in $68.7 billion to acquire Activision Blizzard. This transaction, according to today’s press release, will make Microsoft “the world’s third-largest gaming company by revenue, behind Tencent and Sony.” Activision Blizzard has had its fair share of issues in the press as of late, but Microsoft is looking at the bigger picture for gamers here and will now absorb what appears to be all of the company’s major gaming franchises in the process. After a less-than-stellar first impression, Microsoft has now unleashed the new Halo Infinite campaign overview trailer and things are looking much better. The initial gameplay reveal for the most anticipated Xbox Series X game didn’t go over well with fans last summer, with some rough visuals and a lackluster presentation overall, but it appears 343 Industries has made leaps and bounds on the Halo Infinite campaign since then. After getting a look at the new 20th anniversary peripherals last week, Microsoft has today taken to its official Xbox blog to unveil the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob Xbox Series X consoles. These special edition versions of Microsoft’s flagship home console come in celebration of last week’s launch of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl – the station’s take on Nintendo’s Smash Bros. mascot brawler– that features characters from SpongeBob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and much more.
